Mrs. Odessa Hall Jenkins - a native of Jones County, MS and a longtime resident of Mobile County, AL died Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at her residence. Mrs. Jenkins was a member of Val Haven Missionary Baptist Church. The wife of a preacher, she taught Sunday school for many years, and was employed at Brookley Air Force Base for several years. She also worked in daycare until she retired. Mrs. Jenkins was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Jenkins, Jr. and one daughter, Bonnie M. Scott. Survivors include: four children, Ronald Lowell, Norman Lowell, Karen Jenkins Howell, and John J. Jenkins, III; one brother Alton Hall; fifteen grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren, numerous great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. on Saturday, April 27, 2013 from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Friday, April 26, 2013 at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

Janet McRae Dominescy, age 78, a native and longtime resident of Mobile, Alabama died on Monday, April 22, 2013. She was a member of Overlook Presbyterian Church and was a 1952 graduate of Murphy High School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellsworth Dominescy, Sr. She is survived by her children, Jerome (Jenny) Dominescy, Jr., Janaleen D. Shawn; six grandchildren, Jere (Jennifer) Dominescy, Candice (Richard) Collins, Lauren (Trevor) Moore, Madison Dominescy, Zackary Shawn, Erin Dominescy; two great grandchildren, Hadley Collins and Jonah Dominescy. Graveside services and interment will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 2:00 PM in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Saturday 12:30 PM until 1:30 PM at Radney Funeral Home.

Leo Toifel

Leo Francis Toifel – an 83 year-old lifelong resident of Mobile, AL born August 10, 1929, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2013. He was the first of four sons born to the late Thelma Eckert Toifel of Mobile and Leopold Francis Toifel of New Orleans. He was a 1947 graduate of McGill Institute where he played football and tennis. He was a veteran of the United States Naval Reserve, a charter member of St. Pius X Catholic Church, and was a retired member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3565. Mr. Toifel was preceded in death by his loving and devoted wife, Shirley May Toifel, and sister-in-law, Peggy Toifel. He is survived by two children, Gary Toifel (Rhonda) and Mary Kathryn Scroggins; three brothers, Robert Toifel (Omeika), Ronald Toifel, and David Toifel (Rynn); grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, on Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the service hour. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Toifel, Ronnie Toifel, Jr., Mark Toifel, Lance Toifel, and Brick Toifel, with Jeremy Scroggins, Joel Toifel, Michael McGraw, Matthew McGraw, Marcus McGraw, and David Taylor serving as active pallbearers. Helen Louise Harrison – an 87 year-old lifelong resident of Mobile passed away Saturday, April 20, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Harrison, and two sons, Ronnie Harrison and Larry Harrison. Mrs. Harrison is survived by two children, Gene Harrison and Teresa Barrett (Ron); daughter-in-law, Pam Harrison; eight grandchildren, Stephanie Hopper (Mike), Ron Harrison (Robin), Karen Passero (Mike), Justin Barrett (Vonnie), Tiffany Brown (Chris), Lauren Harbin (Josh), Brandon Harrison, and Josh Harrison; four great-grandchildren, Mitch Hopper, Jakob Hopper, Alyssa Harrison, and Landon Harbin; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family would like to offer a special thanks to the nurses at Saad's Hospice and two special friends and caretakers, Bonnie Curry and Clara Harbin for all of their care and support. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, April 25, 2013, at 12 noon with Rev. Randy Tewell officiating. Dan Leary Sr.

Daniel Joseph Leary, Sr., 75, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away on Friday, February 8, 2013 at his residence.  A memorial mass will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, April 27 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 6300 McKenna Dr, Mobile, Alabama, 36608. Family visitation will be held before mass in the Family Visitation room starting at 9:00 am. His inurnment will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens in Mobile. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society . Dan was born October 19, 1937 in Waterbury, Connecticut. He graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic High School in 1956 and received a BS in Chemistry from the University of Connecticut in 1960. He married the late Patricia Ella Leary in 1960 and lived most of their married life in Mobile, Al. until Pat died in 1998. Dan was employed as a chemical salesman for over 35 years, enjoyed raising his kids, and spent the last years of his life enjoying his grandchildren while residing in Atlanta. Dan had many friends throughout his life and appreciated every moment of it.  Dan is survived by three children: Daniel Joseph Leary, Jr., of New Orleans; Laura Leary Doyle, of Atlanta; and Michael Patrick Leary, of Augusta. He also is survived by ten grandchildren. Dan is also survived by his brother, Francis Aloysius Leary, Jr., of Memphis, TN.

Mary Foster Echols - a native of Bay Minette, Alabama and a longtime resident of Wilmer, Alabama died Friday, April 19, 2013 at her residence.  Mrs. Echols was employed by Mobile Urology Group. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Joseph Ronald Echols, Sr.; one son, Joseph Ronald (Nicola) Echols, Jr.; one daughter, Judy Ann Lewis; her grandchildren, Kendall Lewis (Randy) Tison, Allen Stewart Lewis, Adam (Carmen) Lewis, and Rebecca Ruth Lewis; her great-grandchildren, Coleton Tison, Matthew Lewis, Layla Lewis, Kieran Lewis, Adriel Lewis, Azael Lewis, and Abram Lewis; two sisters-in-law, Candace Echols and Brenda Foster; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Graveside services and interment will be held at 10 A.M. on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at Mobile Memorial Gardens with Reverend Al Moore officiating.

Ruth Elliott Grube- an 89 year-old native of Womack Hill, Alabama and resident of Mobile passed away Monday, April 15, 2013. She retired from Greystone Christian School after many years as an elementary school teacher. Mrs. Grube was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Paul Grube. She is survived by two children, Paul Louis Grube (Carolyn) and Linda Grube Grizzle (Skip); grandchildren, Kerilyn Grube Williams (Kevin), Esther Grube, Sean Grizzle (Chrystal), Lindsay Grizzle Davis (Greg), and Blake Grizzle; two great-grandchildren, other relatives, and friends. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, April 18, 2013, at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until the service hour.
