Mrs. Patricia Ann Anthony Seymour - a native of Big Stone Gap, VA and a longtime resident of Mobile, AL died Friday, May 24, 2013 at her residence. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Charles E. Seymour; four children, Lewis Charles Seymour, Mary Ann Lombard, Linda M. Ploplys, and Alan Eugene Seymour; three brothers, Robert Edens, James Julian, and Tim Martin; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. on Monday, May 27, 2013 from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1 P.M. until 2 P.M. on Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

Elinor B. McBride – a 90 year-old native of Arrowsmith, IL and a resident of Whistler passed away Friday, May 24, 2013. She was a member of the Mobile Rose Society. Mrs. McBride was a former member of Whistler United Methodist Church and was a current member of Chickasaw United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Beckham Sunday School Class, the Lydia Circle and the Mission Committee.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Eugene H. McBride, and son, Larry McBride. Mrs. McBride is survived by four children, Merrily King (David), Barbara Dickins (Stokes), Robert E. McBride (Sharon), and Luanna Stringer (Danny); five grandchildren, Charlotte Bishop, Ken Trainor, Mary Elinor Dickins, Eva Stringer, and Amanda Hennis; 10 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Radney Funeral home in Saraland on Monday, May 27, 2013, at 10 a.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, May 26, from 5-8 p.m. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Heifer International, 1 World Ave., Little Rock, AR 72202 or the Chickasaw United Methodist Church Food Bank, 108 Lee St., Chickasaw, AL 36611.

Mrs. Paula C. Jordan, a native of Memphis, TN, a former resident of Fairhope and a resident of Chelsea, AL, died on Wednesday, May 22, 2013. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Christine Jordan. She is survived by her husband Steve Jordan; her son Stephen Jordan; one sister, Vicky Culver; one brother, Robert Bruce Culver, three grandchildren, and other relatives. Funeral services will be held from the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Monday, May 27, 2013 at 1 PM. Visitation will start at 12 noon. Burial will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

Marilyn D. Barfoot, a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, Alabama, died on Wednesday, May 22, 2013. She was retired from the Mobile County Public Schools. Mrs. Barfoot was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Iva Ruth Deas and her sister Brenda D. Williams. She is survived by James Berg; two daughters, Lisa Scott (Eddie Lee) and Lynn Howell (Dayton); one brother, Marvin Deas; three grandchildren, Brandy Fountain, Josh Scott (Colleen) and Lindsey Fountain; seven great grandchildren, Talan Cothern, Kaylee Scott, Gavin Scott, Colin Scott, Tyler Scott, Jaxon Scott and Josiah Boles and other relatives. Funeral services will be held from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Monday, May 27, 2013 at 10 AM. Visitation will start at 9 AM. Burial will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Derrell Gray Reynolds Sr. age 82, a native of Avery, Mississippi and a resident of Mobile, Alabama died on Thursday, May 16, 2013. Mr. Reynolds served in WWII during the Korean Conflict and worked as a Seaman with the Merchant Marine's. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Reynolds. He is survived by his children, Bob (JoAnn) Helms, Debra McArthur, Julie (Kenneth) Barnes, Donna Anderson, Darrell Gray Reynolds, Jr., Michael (Jennifer) Reynolds; sister, Irma Cosby; brother; Harold Reynolds; sixteen grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at 12 noon from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home.

Janis Hageman - 84, of Mobile, AL, passed away on May 15, 2013. Janis was born in Shelby, OH on January 9, 1929. She was married to the late, Kenneth Hageman on February 11, 1950. Janis worked as a Clerk for the United States government for 15 years.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe and Inez Artz, and daughter, Beth Turner. Janis is survived by her grandson, Michael Turner (Charmon); great-grandchildren, Drew Turner and Haley Turner of Citronelle and Meghan Ehlers of Foley; sister, Doris Ernsberger of Ray, UT; other relatives and friends. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to her caregivers, Carolyn Strange, Gwen Williams, and Rita Roberts for the excellent care they provided.
Graveside services will be held in Mobile Memorial Gardens on Monday, May 20, 2013, at 12 noon. The family will receive friends at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until the service hour.

Mary Wilkerson

Mrs. Mary P. Wilkerson, 87, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at a local hospital. She was the widow of the late W.J.Wilkerson. Born in Natchez, Ms., September 6, 1925. She was the daughter of the late George H. Perkins and Agnes Ratcliff Perkins. She was retired from the Southern Bell Telephone Company after 40 years as a dedicated employee. Mrs. Wilkerson was a member of Mobile Chapter #348 Order of Eastern Star. She was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and Westminster Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Wilkerson is survived by three sisters. Mrs. Sarah P. Fowler of Mobile, Mrs. Dorothy P. Fellers of Columbia, S.C., Mrs. Marjorie P. Hudson of Pensacola, Florida and by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, George H. Perkins, Jr. of Hurst, Texas. The family would like to express their gratitude to Isobel Jones for her love and support. Pallbearers will be James R. Hudson, Jerry L. Carl, Dallas R. Carl, Gregory A. Fowler, and Charles R. Bellman. Funeral Services will be held at Radney Funeral Home - Dauphin Street, on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at 2:00p.m. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service from 1 to 2. Effie Mae Kirksey Owens - born in Conecuh County on May 31, 1912, died May 10, 2013. She was the only child of Henry and Marietta Higdon Kirksey. Effie was a resident of Mobile for 71 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son-in-law, George Jackson; and the love of her life, her husband Edward J. Owens. She is survived by a son, Dr. Henry Owens; daughter, Helen Owens Jackson; grandsons, Wayne (Alison) Alligood and Clinton Edward (Brenda) Jackson; two great-grandsons, Benjamin Jackson and Matthew Jackson; and one great, great-grandson, Braylen Jackson. She was beloved by her nieces and nephews and many friends. Her life reflected the love she had for the Lord. She was special in all ways and touched so many people with her love for them. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Monday, May 13, 2013, at 2 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until the service hour. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
