Mr. Archie Elwood Lewis, age 90, a longtime resident of Mobile, AL died on Thursday, November 28, 2013. He was a WWII Navy Veteran and retired from Royal Typewriter Company. He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Spain Lewis and grandson, Samuel Keller. He is survived by his children, Linda (Henry) Keller, Liz (Mort) Hurst; sister, Mary Agnes Tuck; grandchildren, Lesley (Jim) Steg, Jeff (Jamie) Hurst; great grandchildren, Cali Steg, Charlie Hurst and Jonathan Keller. Graveside services and interment will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at 12 noon in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Tuesday 11-12 noon at Dignity's Three Notch Funeral Home.

Mrs. Annie Laurie Browning, a longtime resident of Mobile, died on November 28, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Browning and two children, Herman Johnson, Jr. and Donald Johnson. She is survived by four children, Terry and Misty, Dwight and Linda, Nancy and Ton and Neal and Debbie; grandchildren, great grandchildren and other relatives. Funeral services will be held from the Chapel of Dignity's Three Notch Funeral Home on Monday, December 2, 2013 at 10 AM. Visitation will start at 9 AM. Burial will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens

Mrs. Lucille Orr-Morgan departed this life peacefully on the morning of November 23, 2013. She was born on August 28, 1935 in Brooksville, Mississippi. She moved to Mobile Alabama in 1955, she lived there until 2010, where she moved to Austin, TX with her son until her passing.
She was a loving wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and friend. She was a force of nature and will be missed by many.
The family would like to thank Pastor James Evans, Associate Pastor Vincent Broughton and Hodge's Funeral Home for their assistance with mother's home going.
A viewing of the body will be at 9:00am on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Hodge's Funeral Chapel, 701 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Ave., Mobile, Alabama 36603. The funeral services will follow at 11:00am and proceed to Mobile Memorial Gardens, 6100 Three Notch Rd. Mobile, AL. 36619.

Dan Ross Mason, born Nov. 15, 1926 in Fairhope, Al died in Spanish Fort, Al, November 25, 2013. Dan Ross was the youngest of seven sons born to Dr. William C. Mason and Anne Edmundson Mason of Fairhope. Dan was a proud graduate of Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana and earned his Masters Degree in Education from the University of Alabama. He had a career as a teacher at Fairhope High School, serving also as Principals of the Elberta Elementary School and Silverhill Elementary School.
Dan was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, William and Anne, and his six brothers, Keith, Dupree, Jimmy, Vance, William and Robert and by his loving wife, Nora. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Westminster Retirement Center, Spanish Fort and Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, Dignity's Dauphin Street Funeral Home in Mobile, and Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Tillmans Corner.
Graveside services will be held Monday, December 2, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Cleo Springer Turner Smith, age 89, former longtime resident of Mobile, AL, passed away at her residence in Deland, FL on Wednesday, November 20, 2013. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Millard Turner and Cecil Smith. She was a former member of a local Mobile chapter of the DAV. She is survived by her son, Glenn Turner (Sharon), sister, Mamie Dee Pettus, brother, Doyce Springer. She also leaves to cherish her memory two grandchildren, Justin Turner and Amber Turner.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.at Dignity's Three Notch Funeral Home, 6040 Three Notch Road, Mobile, AL. Funeral services will follow at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Leo Rodgers Sluder - born April 19, 1915 in Calvert, AL, and a lifetime resident of Mobile, AL, passed away on November 25, 2013. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was baptized into the Baptist faith as a young girl and remained a faithful member throughout her life.
Mrs. Sluder was preceded in death by her husband, James Stewart Sluder; her sons, James Alfred Sluder and William F. Sluder; doaughter, Barbara Sluder Gaines; parents, Emma Hammond Rodgers and Leo Hays Rodgers; four sisters, Fannie R. Langley, Catherine R. Perkins, Ruby R. Covington, and maggie Ruth Rodgers; and brother, Richard R. Rodgers.
She is survived by her loving and devoted grandchildren, William A. Sluder (Krissy), James S. Sluder (Crystal), Jessie A. Sluder, James R. Gaines, Danny R. Gaines (Kristie), Margie S. Creighton (Howard), Francine S. Lott (Gary), and Melissa Sluder; son-in-law, James Robert Gaines; daughter-in-law, Vickie Murray Sluder; great-grandchildren, great, great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Dignity's Three Notch Funeral Home on Friday, November 29, 2013, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Archie Griffin and Rev. Bill Thompson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 noon until the service hour. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be Danny Gaines, Tony Sluder, James Sluder, Tony Bishop, Jesse Sluder, and Jim Gaines.

Jerry R. Potts a native of Montgomery, Al ., and longtime resident of Theodore passed away Sunday, November 24, 2013 peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. Jerry was a coach and teacher at Azalea Road and Hankins School. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a faithful Alabama fan. He also enjoyed his many pets. Jerry never met someone he couldn't make smile. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Lillian Potts. He is survived by his wife; Sandy Potts; son, Jason Potts (Lindsay Butler), daughter, Cindy P. Ferguson (Luke); brother, Harry "Bud" Potts (Elaine), twin brother Terry "Cotton" Potts (Judy); sister, Deborah Lovejoy (Mark) along with nieces, nephews and many other relatives. Funeral services will be held from Dignity's Three Notch chapel on Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. Visitation will begin two hours prior to services. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a local hospice or your favorite charity.
