Mildred E. "MeMe" Thompson – born September 11, 1938 was called home to Glory by her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 28, 2014. She was a career beautician and past president of Thompson Pest Control. She was an active member of Woodridge Baptist Church and will be remembered as a loving and giving person. She loved her husband, Medrick, dearly and her daughter, Ronda as well as her grandchildren, Clark and Jon Marc, they were her heart! She will be sorely missed by her immediate family, church family and her many special friends. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Ena Madden, sisters, Johnnie Rose Walker, Coyce Brown and Joyce Bringham, brother, James Madden. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Medrick Thompson, daughter Ronda (Maurice) Girardeau, brother, Donnie Madden, sisters, Janelle (Robert) Collom, Carolyn (Phil) Ezelle, grandchildren, Clark and Jon Marc Girardeau, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Saturday, May 31, 2014, from 9:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Woodridge Baptist Church. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 31st at 12:00 p.m. from the chapel of Woodridge Baptist Church, 2700 Schillinger Road South, Mobile, AL., 36695, with Dr. Mack Morris officiating. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

BRENDA AILEEN HARRIS, a native of Mobile, Alabama was born November 28, 1956 to the union of the late Elijah Thomas Harris, Jr. and Alice Harris. She graduated from Davidson High School in 1974. She entered into eternal rest on May 24, 2014. Brenda confessed Christ at an early age. She leaves to cherish her memories to three devoted children, James Harris of Mobile, AL, Nekesha (Roosevelt) Kimble of St. Petersburg, FL and Courtney Harris, of Mobile, AL; a very devoted and loving mother, Alice Harris of Mobile, AL; three sisters, Gladys (Christopher) Penton of Memphis, TN, Angela (Curtis) Richardson and Sandra Keith both of Mobile, AL; four brothers, Elijah (Claire) Harris III, Michael (Bernadette) Harris, Cedric (Lorraine) Harris and Charles (Shelia) Harris all of Mobile, AL; a host of other relatives and friends. Heaven gained an angel, Lucille Edith Gillaspie McCawley, on May 23, 2014 at the age of 93. Mrs. McCawley was born to Ruth Ethel Shutt and William Daniel Gillaspie on July 19, 1920 in Bon Secour, AL. Henry H. McCawley, Sr. asked Lucille to dance with him at a social in 1936 and she happily accepted. It was love at first sight. They were married for 67 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had a gentle spirit, beautiful smile and opened her home to people of all walks of life. Sunday afternoons were spent with family and friends gathered around Lucille's dinner table socializing and enjoying southern cooking. She was a skilled seamstress who made clothes, Eastern Star and Azalea Trail dresses. She held the office of Adah in the Eastern Star for approximately 20 years. She was a resident of Mobile for over 70 years. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Henry H. McCawley, Sr.; infant son, Henry Eugene McCawley; parents, William and Ruth Ethel Shutt Gillaspie; granddaughter, Alyssa McCawley Rhea; her brothers, John Gillaspie, Herman Gillaspie and Floyd Gillaspie; her sisters, Florence Helton, Elsie Kirksey and Audrey Murphy. She is survived by her son, Henry H. (Martha) McCawley, Jr.; daughters, Shirley (Ed) Chavers and Dionia (Jim) Veasey; grandchildren, Eric (Christie) Veasey, Mark Veasey, Dr. Scott (Paige) Chavers and Sheryl Chavers (Jesse) Verdin; great-grandchildren, Alex Veasey, Amber Veasey, Colby Verdin, Blake Verdin, Garrett Rhea, Michael Rhea, Lance Chavers, Isabella Chavers and Molly Chavers; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. The family would like to express their gratitude to Carolyn Monterio and staff at Stacey Manor for their love and care these past eight years and to Tracy Levines, Gentiva Health Care Hospice nurse. Funeral services will be held from the Chapel of Dignity's Three Notch Funeral Home Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
