Sept. 23, 2014 Oliver Jackson Prine, III, a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, died on Tuesday. He was the co-owner of Quality Siding Company. Mr. Prine was preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Prine. He is survived by three children, Cheryl Stallone, Connie Prine and Mark Prine; a brother, Charles Prine; two grandchildren, Justin Prine and Ryan Prine; two great grandchildren, Conner Prine and Cooper Prine and other relatives. Funeral services will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, September 26, 2014 at 12 noon. Visitation will start at 11 AM. Burial will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

July 14, 1925-Sept. 23, 2014 Geneva Herring Lott Waltman, a longtime resident of Wilmer, AL passed away Tuesday. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Oscar Underwood Lott and William Thomas Waltman; and sons-in-law, William Douglas, Jr. and Donald Christ. She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Douglas, Linda Christ and Kathy (Dennis) Seales; 11 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. She was a talented artist, faithful friend, devoted mother and loving Nanny to everyone. We will miss so many things about you, especially your beautiful smile. We look forward to seeing you again in heaven. The family wishes to express special thanks to E. A. Roberts Alzheimer Center and the Staff of Mobile Infirmary. John Wesley Payne passed away June 2, 2014. He was born August 14, 1952, in Hamilton, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey Lee and Mary June Payne. He is survived by his brothers Briggs Payne, and Mark Payne and sister Audree Killian. A graveside service will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery September 25, 2014 at 11:00 AM.

Jeanette Foster

Dec. 26, 1935 – Sept. 22, 2014 Jeanette Joyce Chancellor Foster, age 78, of Mobile, AL, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, September 22, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Jeanette was born in Whistler, AL on December 26, 1935. She was a graduate of C.F. Vigor High School and retired from Scott Paper Company after thirty years of service. She is preceded in death by her mother, Lucille Chancellor Grace, her father, Earl Chancellor, and sister, Lucille Grace Lovelace. She is survived by her truly devoted and loving husband, William B. "Tommy" Foster, Jr. The two were rarely apart throughout their 26 years of marriage. Jeanette is also survived by her three children, Deborah Padgett (Eddie) Breland, Tim (Judy) Padgett, and Donna Padgett (Mike) Richardson; one sister, Edna Earl Chancellor Bailey; as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The service will be held at South Mobile First Baptist Church on Thursday, September 25, 2014 with a visitation at 10:00 AM followed by the service at 12:00 PM. Interment will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens. Flowers may be sent directly to the church or in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Mary's Home in memory of Mrs. Jeanette Foster, 4350 Moffett Road, Mobile, AL 36618, Attn: Jill Chenoweth.

July 31, 1927-Sept. 19, 2014 Thera Chandler McNiel Kendrick, born in Monroeville, AL on July 31, 1927 and a resident of Foley, AL died on Friday, September 19, 2014. She was a cherished and loving mother and grandmother. Thera was a devoted Christian and a charter member of Daybreak United Methodist Church in Foley, AL and was an active member of the Bosom Buddies. She worked as a secretary for the Boy Scouts of America, FEMA, Corps of Engineers and Defense Contracts. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mazie and Howell Chandler; her brother, Raymond Chandler; her husbands, James S. McNiel and Al Stewart Kendrick; and infant granddaughter, Robin Elizabeth McIntosh. She is survived by her daughter, Thera Anita McNiel McIntosh; step-son, Larry Stewart Kendrick; six grandchildren, Laura (Wade) Gudvangen; Lisa (Corey) Brenneman, Jessica (Mark) Hamby, Maggie (Matt) Coker, Samantha (Nathan) Callaghan and Madison Kendrick; her sister, Emily Chandler Kolb; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren, two sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at 12 Noon. Evert Van Veelen

Feb. 12, 1941-Sept. 20, 2014 Evert was born in the Netherlands, a native of Otsego, MI and a longtime resident of Mobile, AL. He passed away at Mobile Infirmary after extensive health problems. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Esther and three children, Kimberly Volk (Chris), Michael Van Veelen and Kevin Van Veelen. He has one Grand daughter, Maggie Bacon. Evert was a longtime member of the American Legion Post 76. Family will receive friends at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 24, 2014, from 1:30-3:30 with services following at 3:30. Interment will be at Mobile Memorial Gardens.
