May 16, 1931-Oct. 25, 2014 Mrs. Joan Rentz, was a loving wife and mother of five children. Mrs. Rentz was a PTA President at Westlawn, Mobile County Council PTA President, taught two year olds at Dauphin Way, President of a Church Circle, and Chairman of White Christmas for several years. She was a stay at home mom who was dedicated to taking care of her family. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Irvin G. Rentz, Sr.; five children, Debbie Rentz Jackson(Paul), of Anniston, AL, Jennie Rentz Stallworth(Buddy) of Daphne, AL, Irvin G. Rentz, Jr.(Julie) of Mobile, AL, Leslie Rentz of Mobile, AL, and Cindy Rentz Rayburn(Bryan) of Mobile, AL; seven grandsons, Eric Jackson(Heather), of Remlap, AL, Matthew Jackson(April) of Jackson, MS, Travis Stallworth(Briana) of Hartsville, SC, Edward Stallworth of Daphne, AL, Gray Rentz, of Bryan, TX, Dalton Rentz, of Auburn, AL, and Christopher Rayburn of Mobile, AL; five great grandchildren, Erica, Lucas, and Savannah Jackson of Remlap, AL and Ben and Sarah Kate Stallworth of Hartsville, SC; one brother-in-law, Billy Rentz of Sweetwater, AL and other relatives. Funeral services will be held at Dauphin Way United Methodist Church on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 11 AM. Visitation will start at 10 AM. Burial will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Dauphin Way United Methodist Church for your favorite charity.

George Carpenter

Edison-GeorgeA chapel service for George Carpenter will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, from Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home followed by a committal service at the grave site.

Jan. 29, 1926-Oct. 21, 2014 George E. Carpenter, Jr., a native of Baton Rouge, LA and long-time resident of Mobile, AL passed away peacefully at his home in Orange Beach, AL Tuesday, October 21, 2014 with his family where he finally gave up his long time battle with Parkinson's disease at the age of 88. He is a WWII Navy Veteran and also retired from Brookley Field AFB after many years of Civil Service. Once retired, George was a successful entrepreneur in Mobile, AL for over three decades as the owner and operator of GECO Leasing Company and Ed's TV. He moved to Orange Beach in 1991 where he became a member of Gulf Shores United Methodist Church and was an active member in his community and also served as Treasurer on the Board for the Orange Beach Waterfront Park. He was preceded in death by wife, Nora Bell Keel Carpenter; parents, Mr. and Mrs. George E, Carpenter, Sr.; two brothers, William E. Carpenter and Billy J. Carpenter. He is survived by his sons, Eric Carpenter and Danny Carpenter (Maria); daughter, Jennifer D. Lovelace (Tim) and son, Douglas F. Carpenter (Tammy); five grandchildren, Jessica M. Carpenter (Levi), Sara G. Carpenter, Hayse B. Lovelace, Kelsey B. Carpenter and Cooper D. Carpenter; three great-grandchildren, Kira and Kylan Davidson and Shye Oaks; two brothers, James C. Carpenter (Kathryn) and C. Ray Carpenter; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Our father, better known as "Jiggs", will be remembered for his laughter, charm, and love for fishing and life. He will be greatly missed. A celebration of George's life will be held Wednesday, October 29, 2014 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

William R Norton

He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Lou Norton and two daughters, Brenda Kay Campbell and Kathy Norton. He is survived by his daughter, Karen (David) Miller; three grandchildren, Timothy (Miranda) Smith, Karen (Chris) Lipscomb and Chris (Gwen) Miller; sisters, brothers and other relatives , Visitation will be Friday, October 24, 2014 from 12:30 to 2 PM at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, with services at 2 PM. Burial will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
