Paul McBride

 Jan. 19, 1931-Nov. 26, 2015 Paul Victor McBride, Jr., of Theodore, AL passed away on Thursday. He was born in Church Point, LA and was the son of the late, Paul V. McBride, Sr. and Lucille McBride. He married the former Marguerite V. Rosson who preceded him in death on December 19, 2011. Paul was employed by the Federal Government, and served in the U.S.Army during Korea. He attended St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church and was a member of the American Legion. He is survived by a brother, Robert (Willow Dean) McBride of Church Point, LA; step-son, Donald (Carol) Rosson of Theodore, AL; five grandchildren, Donald Rosson, Jr., Megan Rosson, Melanie Rosson, Wesley Parker and James Parker; three great grandchildren, Wesley Parker, Jr. Gabe Parker and Donald Rosson, III, 8 nieces, one nephew. In addition to his parents and wife, Paul was preceded by two sisters, Heneritte McBride and Clara Richard. Funeral services will be held from Mobile Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 2 PM. Visitation will start at 12 noon. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

Bertha Scanlan

A chapel service for Bertha Scanlan will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, 11/30/2015 from Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home followed by a committal service at the grave site.

June 15, 1923-Nov. 26, 2015 Mrs. Bertha Hotz Scanlan was born June 15, 1923 and passed away peacefully on November 26, 2015. She lived in Staten Island, New York until 1946 when she moved to Mobile to marry John Leonard Scanlan. She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, John and Mary Hotz, brother, John Hotz, Jr.; sister Helen Ward; sister Margaret Hotz; and niece, Darlene Ward. She is survived by her daughters, Jo Ann (Bing) Miller of Mobile; Jill Scanlan of Birmingham; grandson, Matthew Miller of Mobile; sister, Dottie Jennings of Hertford, North Carolina; brother-in-law, Bud Ward of Catskill, New York; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will start at 1 PM Monday. The service will be at Mobile Memorial Funeral Home on Monday, November 30, 2015 at 2 PM. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

Nicholas Rauch

September 27, 1952 - November 26, 2015 Nicholas G. Rauch, age 63, native of New Orleans and resident of Daphne, Alabama, passed away on Thursday November 26, 2015. Nick retired in 2011 from Praxair, Inc. after 38 years of service. He was area plant manager at the Theodore plant for 20 years and at the time of his retirement was Operations Director for the South. After retirement he taught part-time at Remington College in Mobile. He served on the Board of Advisors with the Mobile Chamber of Commerce from 2008-2010. He was on the Board of Directors with Keep Mobile Beautiful for several years. He developed a program through Praxair "Rooting for Mobile" which donated thousands of trees to the community. Nick graduated from McGill Institute and is an alumni of the University of South Alabama. He is preceded in death by his father, Nicholas J. Rauch. He is survived by his mother, Therese Rauch, his wife of 40 years, Kathy, his children, Michael (Jamie) Rauch, Christine (Brian) Freeman, 3 grandsons, Luke, Ben and Carson, a brother, David (Nancy) Rauch, two sisters, Mary Earnest and Donna Marston, several loving nieces and nephews and their families. Nick enjoyed fishing, hiking in the Smokies and ballroom dancing. But his real enjoyment was spending time with his family. He was a devoted husband and father and a man of the highest integrity and purest morality. We are all better people for having known him. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 30, 2015 at 12:00 PM from the chapel of Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at 10:30 AM until the service time. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

David Sullivan

Nov. 13, 1926-Nov. 23, 2015 Mr. David Napoleon Sullivan, age 89, a native of Uniform, Alabama and a resident of Eight Mile, Alabama passed away on November 23, 2015. Mr. Sullivan was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He was a World War II Veteran, a member of Bowen Lodge No. 240 F. & A. M. for excess of 60 years, and was self-employed. He was married 48 years to his loving wife, Helen M. Sullivan. He is survived by his children, Michael Sullivan (Paula), Roger Casey (Angie), Jerry Casey (Kathy), Randy Casey (Diane); 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and 2 brothers, William (Bill) Sullivan (Jane), L. J. Sullivan (JoAnn). He was preceded in death by his parents Lindsey Sullivan and Sallie Sullivan, his daughter Vicki L. Rood, his sister Alva Lowe and brother, Lamar Sullivan. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 27, 2015 at 12:00 PM from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Friday 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Donald Clements, Sr. and Maude (Rose) Clements, and one sister, Martha Sanders. She is survived by her husband of 61 years; Joel B. Malone, six children; Brenda (Eugene) Howell, Wayne (Julia) Malone, Sheilah (Derrall) Marshall, Gary (Anna) Malone, Julie (Marty) Gomien, and Jeannie (Michael) Barber, two brothers; Donnie (Bonnie) Clements, and David (Barbara) Clements, three sisters; Ginger Mumme, Donna Howle, and Maudie (J.R.) Finlay, 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and many other family and friends. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 from 11 am to 1 pm at Crawford Baptist Church. May 12, 1947-Nov. 21, 2015 Larry Duane Smith, 68, died on Saturday, November 21, 2015 in a local hospital. Larry is survived by his wife, Linda McCrory Smith; his daughter, Stephanie Smith Johnston (Timothy Michael Johnston); and his son, Zachary James Smith (Katie Watson Smith). He is also survived by granddaughters, Ashlyn Brooke Johnston and Natalie Alyssa Johnston. He is preceded in death by his father, James Hayward Smith, Sr. ("Trimmer Smith"); his mother, N. Elizabeth Wallace Smith ("Sis"), and his brother, James Hayward Smith, Jr. ("Junior/Jim"). He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, former founder/owner of Smith's Canvas & Upholstery in Mobile, AL, proud employee of Allstate Insurance Co as an Auto Claims Adjuster, and faithful member of Luke 4:18 Fellowship Church. The wake will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 from 5pm-8pm at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The funeral will be Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 1pm at Luke 4:18 Fellowship Church. Pastor Fred Wolfe will officiate. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
