Charles Edwin ''Chuck'' Blumenthal, a native of Atlanta, GA and longtime resident of Mobile, AL, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at the age of 87. C.E. lived over 60 years in Mobile where he raised his family and successfully operated the Blumenthal Real Estate Agency until his retirement in 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julius Levi Blumenthal and Beatrice Diers Jettson; a granddaughter, Ashley Ready; his brother and two sisters. His survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Doris L. Blumenthal; three daughters, Sherri Smith; Tammy (Johnny) Hite; and Candy (David) King; grandchildren, Joseph (Kristy) Harrison, D.J. (Tracy) Farnell, Allyson York, April (Mark) King, Joshua (Anna) York, Lacy King and Andrew King; great-grandchildren, Isaiah Farnell, Ciera King, Nicholas King, Gabrielle Farnell, Brendon Wilson, Haley Wilson, Jeremiah Farnell, Sophia Cooper, Evie Tate, Caleb King, Paul Tate and Zachary Harrison; other relatives and friends. Funeral services, officiated by Rev. Johnny Hite, will be held Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 12:00 Noon until service time. .

Ruth Russo, a life-long resident of Mobile, Alabama, passed away on July 27, 2016. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church and a member of a Mobile Mystic Society. She was retired from the United States Probation Office. She is preceded in death by her husband, Vincenzo Russo. She is survived by her daughter, Sabrina Creighton Poole; two granddaughters, Katelyn and Kristin Poole; sisters, Martha Smith, Phyllis Bonser, Debby Rodriguez, and Melanie Jo Stockman; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at 12 noon from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Vera Irene Marks

A chapel service for Vera Irene Marks will be held at 9:00 AM on Saturday, 07/30/2016 from Freeman Funeral Home, followed by a committal service at the grave site.

Mrs. Vera Irene Marks, 91, passed away on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at her home in Citronelle.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Citronelle. Mrs. Marks was a retired realtor and was involved in many various civic activities. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, William T. Marks Sr.; son, William T. Marks Jr.; and parents, Ira and Corrine Mason.

She is survived by her two sons, Stephen (Mandy Davis) Marks and Timothy Marks; two granddaughters, Rachel (Jeff) Redding and Stefanie Marks; one grandson, William Thomas Marks III; and great-granddaughters, Reese and Kinsley Redding.

The wake will be from 6-9pm Friday, July 29, 2016 at Freeman Funeral Home. The funeral service will be 9am Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Freeman Funeral Home with Dr. Elbert Charpie officiating.

John Calvin White

Mr. John Calvin White, age 84. A native of Monroeville, Alabama and a resident of Semmes, Alabama passed away on July 26, 2016. He was a member of Snow Road First Baptist Church. Mr. White was the owner of Whites Big & Tall. He was also the Scout Leader of #136 and member of Kiwanis Club. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marvine White; two sons, John White, Steve White; brother, David Moore; grandchildren, Stephanie (Daryl) Piner, John (Holly) White and four great grandchildren, Whitney, Katie, Emily and Abigail. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 29, 2016 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home.

Linda Caine Irish- February 16, 1944- July 22, 2016 A native and resident of Mobile, AL died on Friday, July 22, 2016 at the age 72. Mrs. Irish was retired as a clerk with Mobile County but also worked in earlier years at American Embassies including Pretoria, South Africa and Kathmandu, Nepal. She is survived by a daughter, Debra Lynn (Charles) Sullivan and a son, George Kelly Irish; one sister, Susan R. Caine; three grandchildren, Heather (Charles) King, Charlie Sullivan and Amanda Irish; two great grandchildren, Annelise King and Langston King. July 15, 1942 - July 25, 2016 Age 74, passed away while in Mobile Infirmary Hospital, July 25, 2016 in Mobile, AL. Jackie was a dedicated 27 year employee with Mobile County Public School System. She taught middle school science and after receiving her Master's Degree in Administration, worked as an Instructional Specialist, Assistant Principal at Hillsdale Middle School, Mary G. Montgomery High School, and Semmes Elementary School where she retired. After retirement, she enjoyed volunteering at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab, the Mobile Exploreum, and Spencer – Westlawn Elementary School. She relished the company and the friendship of her many co-workers. Jackie loved her husband, family, and being a Nana to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all that loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Mildred Singleton (Mobile, AL). She is survived by her husband Danial Louis Reed of 20 years, seven children, James Denson Jr. (Jo Anne), Jeff Denson (Debbie), Julia Denson Andrews, Dan Reed Jr. (Shelly), Mike Reed, Steve Reed (Melissa), and Rebecca Fitzpatrick (Paul), 18 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, niece and nephew Patricia and Chris Singleton, other relatives and many friends.
