Your Legacy John D. Andrews
Passed away on March 29, 2017
You said your family started with you
What if: Your mother had kept you with her, your grandmother had raised you, your adopted mother had supported you and your first or second wives had of stuck with you? George "Wiley" Rodgers, Jr.
July 15, 1972-Mar. 24, 2017

Our Wiley passed from death into life eternal on March 24, 2017 at 6:45 a.m., a glorious Friday morning. If you could see him now! He's walking streets of gold; he's standing tall and whole; he's full of joy and laughter; he's seeing the magnificent glories of Heaven and most of all, Wiley is seeing Jesus, face to face. He was only 44 years of age when Jesus said, "It's time to come home, my son."
Wiley was born on July 15, 1972 in Mobile, Alabama, to his loving parents, George W., Sr. and Eileen H. Rodgers. He had a deep love for his family. Wiley went to Baker High School, graduated from West Lawn School, attended Auburn University and Gulf Coast Community College. He worked in many places, mainly in the food industry and was a Manager at the Hard Rock Café.
In addition to his parents, Wiley is survived by his siblings, Kimberly (David) Buck, Darcey (Floyd) Ansley, Kathy (Dan) Johnstone, Frankie (Barbara) Shuford, Ramona (Brett) Ardizone, Jody (Naomi) Rodgers, and Stacey Steele. He had many nieces, nephews, and great nephews who laughed with and loved their Uncle Wiley, especially Moira, Jessica, Kathleen, Thomas, Aaron (Isaac and Salem), Daniel (Dean), Zachary (Evan), Courtney, John, Brett, Jr., Catherine, and Sarah. Also, two favorite aunts, Caroll (Whitey) Braun and Bess (Les) Anderson. Wiley was predeceased by his grandparents, Joseph and Bertha Rodgers, Jack and Edwina (Nannie) Phillips, Bill and Polly Hall, and his Uncle Bill Hall. Wiley and Nannie always celebrated their birthdays together! He had so many friends and loved ones who will miss his smiling and humorous presence.
Our heartfelt thanks go out to the staff, doctors, nurses, CNAs, PT, kitchen and housekeeping at Gordon Oaks Healthcare Facility for all the wonderful, loving, and compassionate care given to our Wiley for almost two years. God opened a door there and our family will always be forever grateful.
Wiley's Celebration Service will be Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Luke 4:18 Fellowship on Sollie Road. Visitation will be from 10:00-12:00 with services at 12:00.

Apr. 5, 1937-Mar. 24, 2017
Mary Dorothy Roberts Kennedy, a wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and servant of the Lord. Timid was she, but feisty if she needed to be. A TRUE WARRIOR for God. She taught us girls how to love our husbands through the good times and the bad. Her strength and perseverance through trials were unmistakably conquered from her strong FAITH.
