Jessie Carlton Coram, a native of Bonifay, FL, former resident of Mobile, AL and current resident of Monroeville, AL, died Thursday, June 29, 2017 at the age of 89. He was a US Navy Veteran, served with the Sea Bees on the island of Guam and was a retired boat captain. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel Wayne Coram and Alma Silmer Fleming Coram and his wife, Verla Mae Ganey Coram. His survivors include his daughter, Beverly Coram Jones; three grandchildren, Rhonda Jones (Wade) Burch, E. Wayne (Vanise) Jones and Christina Jones (Bobby) Nichols; five great-grandchildren, Paige Burch, Nathan Burch, Jennifer (Michael) Roberts, Amy (Anthony) Baker and Emily (Alan) Nalley; one sister, Naomie Ruth Coats; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Monday, July 3, 2017 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon. Graveside services, officiated by Brother Mickey Chandler, will follow at 12:00 Noon in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

George Hilbun Sumrall, Jr., 90, of Mobile, AL, passed away Monday, June 26, 2017. He grew up in Prichard, AL; attended Shadow Lawn Baptist Church; and later lived in Mobile and Eight Mile, AL and attended Dauphin Way Baptist and then College Park Baptist Church. He was a 1944 graduate of Murphy High School and was a US Army Veteran. After his first career in chemistry at Courtaulds, he built homes in Mobile and Baldwin Counties. Following Dinah Shore's advice to ''See the USA in your Chevrolet'', he had a passion for traveling by car. He also coached baseball in Mobile's charter Little League in 1959 and then Babe Ruth in the early 1960's. He was preceded in death by his wife, Zellene George Sumrall; stepson, Mike Griffin and parents, George Hilbun Sumrall, Sr. and Violet Abney Sumrall. His survivors include his sons, George Hilbun Sumrall, III, Kent Sumrall and Scott Sumrall; daughter-in-law, Gwen Griffin; grandchildren, Kristie Threlkeld, Morgan Sumrall and Lilly Anna Sumrall; great-granchildren, Dustin Thelkeld, Cody Threlkeld and Kelsey Threlkeld; other relatives and friends. Funeral services, officiated by Pastor Mike Bedford, will be held Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 12:00 Noon until service time. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

Jewell L. DeVan was a long time resident of Saraland, AL, She passed away on Monday, June 26, 2017. Jewell owned and operated Saraland Art until her retirement. She enjoyed painting, flowers, church and her family. She was a long time member of Semmes Pentecostal Church and Saraland Community Center. She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years Robert T. DeVan, daughter Dawn DeVan, her parents Malcolm T. and Mami Edith Price. Three sisters Judy Orman, Martha Knight and Connie Alman, one brother Melvin Price. Jewell is survived by her daughter Vicki Wyers of Mobile, son Carl Selby of Saraland and step-daughter Joyce Stein of Illinois. She leaves behind 6 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren, Sisters Alta Lawson on Indiana, Ladonna Britton of Florida and Cathy Simmons of Indiana. Brothers Ronnie Price of Texas John Price of Oregon and Billy Price. Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 am until 10:30 am at Radney Funeral Home- Saraland. Lucy Josephine Leggett (''Miss Lucy''), age 102, returned to her heavenly home, surrounded by family on June 21, 2017. She was a native of Wartrace, Tennessee and longtime resident of Mobile, Alabama. She leaves to cherish her memory a son, Torrance ''Leon'' Leggett and her daughter-in-law, "A.C" Leggett; her two grandchildren, Kathryn ''Suzanne'' (Mike) Cottrell and Torrance Ivan ''Ti'' (Amy) Leggett; her 4 great-grandchildren, Reid and Wyatt Cottrell; Aidan and Daylan Leggett. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Thompson Arnold and Sallie Eunice Bishop Jolly Arnold; her husband Torrance Albert Leggett and her 18 siblings. She was a kind and gracious lady who will be greatly missed by family and friends. Miss Lucy retired at age 86 from the Coastguard Base Exchange. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels for many years well into her mid-nineties, and was an active founding member of South Brookley United Methodist Church.

Funeral services, officiated by Reverend Doug Jolly, will be held Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 2:00pm from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with visitation at 12:00 noon the same day. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. After interment the family and her church family invite attendees to South Brookley United Methodist Church for fellowship and refreshments.

Daniel Joseph Stratton, 53, died on June 23, 2017 in the Covenant Hospice Wing at Providence Hospital surrounded by his family. He was a native of Battle Creek, Michigan and a longtime resident of Mobile. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Stratton, and one brother, Paul Stratton. Danny's interest is that he loved to fish and play video games, also he liked to watch movies and read western books. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his brother, Mike (Mary) Stratton and two sisters, Julie Esponge and Karen Stratton; nieces and nephews, Carles (Jennifer) Esponge, Jr., Dorcelie (Nicole) Esponge with Aaron, Kale and Abigail; Josh (Rachel) Stratton and Sara (Brandon) Guthrie. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 12 noon at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Visitation will start at 11:00 AM Tuesday. Burial will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

She is survived by her husband Perry McClure and sister Gladys Glass, stepson Eddie (Brenda) McClure, stepdaughter Karen (Dayton) Gunter and many other nieces, nephews and other family members. Funeral services will be held from Eastern Shore Baptist Church in Daphne, AL on Monday, June 26, 2017 at 12:00 with visitation starting at 11:00. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in remembrance to Eastern Shore Baptist Church.
