Mrs. Dolores Adell “MEMA” (Reed) Willcox, a native and life­long resident of Mobile, Ala­bama died on October 29, 2017 peacefully at the Sacred Heart Residence of the Little Sisters of the Poor in Mobile at the age of 102.
Mrs. Willcox was born on July 27, 1915 in Mobile, Alabama, daughter of William Joseph Reed and Martha Susan (Real Mama) Reed. She attended Ca­thedral School of the Immacu­late Conception and Bishop Toolen High School and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church since 1937. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Savage Willcox, Sr., her son Robert Savage (Bobby) Willcox, Jr., Texcie Anne Willcox Veasey, and granddaughter Angela Veasey Russell.
She was also preceded in death by her siblings: William Ernest Reed, Vivian Clarence (Jack) Reed, Mary Elizabeth (Bootsie) Reed McDonald, Sarah Frances (Frankie) Reed McCrary, James Reuben (Jim) Reed, Isabel Jane Rose Myrtle (Betty) Hughes, John Mims Reed, Florence Grace (Mary) Reed Goff, Joseph Wesley (Sonny) Reed.
Mrs. Willcox is survived by her sister Rose Marie (Marie) Reed Murray, her son Charles H. Willcox (Martha Catlin), her daughter Sarah Willcox Walter (Stan), 17 grandchildren: Charles H. (Daphne) Willcox Jr. Susan Willcox (Richard) Beaty, Cynthia Willcox (Sean) Wentworth, James Robert (Andrea) Willcox, Mary Willcox (Mark) Shaw, Anita Willcox (Tony) Pease, Jamie Willcox (Jason) Senkbeil, John Paul Willcox, Joseph Willcox, Joanne Veasey (Brian) Lewis, Joseph (Dawn) Veasey, Cheryl Veasey (Curt) Smith, Jason (Susie) Veasey, Terrell (Maryne) Roberts, Kristin Roberts Bearden, David (Melissa) Roberts, Lauren Reed Roberts, 48 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and her daughter-in-law, Serena Willcox.
The family wishes to thank the Little Sisters of the Poor, Rev. Mon­signor Peter J. Cunningham, Chaplain, Sister Raymond Kortenhof, l.s.p., the priests in residence, and the entire staff of the Sacred Heart Residence, and especially the caregivers on the St. Ann Hall for their loving and professional spiritual and physical care of MEMA during the last years of her earthly journey.
Her celebration of life services will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church, Mobile, Alabama, on Saturday, November 4, 2017, with visitation from 9:30 am until 10:30 a.m., followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at Mobile Me­morial Gardens, Three Notch Kroner Rd, Mobile, Alabama.

Phyllis Trimble

Phyllis McInnis Trimble went to her heavenly home Sunday, October 29, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents Annie Louise McInnis and Van Owen McInnis; brother Van Owen McInnis, Jr.; sister Gloria Walley. Phyllis was born on August 30, 1951 and was a lifelong Mobilian. She is survived by her husband Charles Trimble; daughter Kimberly (Brandon) Rice; grandchildren Charlie and Katy Rice, who were the light of her life; sister Carol Ann Tindle; brothers Ray McInnis and Gary McInnis; and a host of nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Phyllis brought joy to everyone she met and gave unselfishly her entire life. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Springhill Presbyterian Church followed by interment at Mobile Memorial Gardens.

Gregory Allen Toomey

Gregory Allen Toomey, a native of Atmore, AL and a longtime resident of Mobile, died on Sunday October 29, 2017. He was preceded in death by his father, William S. Toomey, Jr. He is survived by three children, Michelle LaGreco, April L. Moore and Jessica Abbott; his mother, Joan Toomey; one sister, Kathleen Odom; two brothers, William Brian Toomey and Joseph Anthony Toomey; twelve grandchildren and other relatives. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 2pm. Visitation will start at 1pm. Burial in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

Mary John “Johnnie” Schneider, age 92, born in Laurel, MS in 1925 and a resident of Mobile, AL since 1945, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, October 28, 2017. She died peacefully at home. She is survived by her son, George Gray Schneider, her son, John Robert Schneider and his wife, Amy, of Montgomery, AL, and daughter, Ann Elizabeth Cox and her husband, Greg, of Falls Church, VA. Her grandchildren include Brian Schneider, Lisa Austin, Christina Schneider, Mark Schneider and wife, Lauren, Jocelyn Fulmer and her husband, Eric, and Ben Cox and his wife, Caroline. She is also survived by her sister, Bernice Thompson and her husband, Mandart, her brother, Bill Chancellor and his wife, Lila, and her sister, Annie Kate Fetzer. She was especially proud of her three great-grandchildren, Vivian Gray Fulmer, Max Gregory Fulmer and John Dewitt Cox. Her husband of 68 years preceded her in death in November, 2014. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. After World War II, she married Hans Schneider of North Bellmore, NY in 1946 and settled in Mobile, AL where they raised their family. She was a faithful member of Cottage Hill Baptist Church since 1954, where she served as the Nursery Coordinator for many years. She loved sharing her crocheting, knitting and other crafts with friends and family. She was a friend to all who knew her and she will be missed by all who loved her. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, November 10, 2017, at 12:30PM in the Chapel of Cottage Hill Baptist Church, Mobile, AL. The family will begin receiving friends at 12:00 Noon. I

Broderick Keith Wingfield passed away on Wednesday
October 25, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.
“Wing” was a high school MVP basketball athlete and
1975 graduate of Shaw High School. He was employed
forty plus years in the shipyard industries. He was a
member of Emanuel AME Church in Mobile, AL

He envelops an ambiance of love for all who met and
knew him. Broderick leaves to cherish his memories a
devotion of family and friends.
Broderick was preceded in death by his third child
when the angels came and lifted our baby to the
heavenly band to join Broderick’s parents, the late Mr.&
Mrs. Richard (Dorothy) Glover Wingfield Sr. and
brother, Mr. Richard Wingfield, Jr.
He is survived by his wife and life-long friend, Cynthia

James Fredrick Thompson, also affectionately known as "Grumps", a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL. passed away on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at the age of 79. James was born on October 9, 1938 and was a veteran of the United States Navy. He worked in the maintenance business most of his life.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Richelle Schuettner Thompson; a daughter, Dez Thompson; parents, Clarence and Gladys Thompson and a sister Irene Sayree.
James is survived by his daughter, Kim Ibanez; a son, Jay Xavier Tombstone; grandsons, Michael and Joshua; his brother Earl (Bea) Thompson and a special friend Sue Mardis, also, survived by several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
