Mark Bostick passed away Wednesday November 29 that his residence in Mobile. He was preceeded in death by his father James Maurice Bostick and stepfather John Fernandes.
He is survived by his wife Cynthia ( Cindy) Wade Bostick; his mother Maizie Maum Fernandes one son, Christopher Keith Bostick (Natalia); one daughter, Michelle Bostick Robinson (Daniel); two sisters, Madolyn Kay Rhea (AL) and Rosemary Lynn Schneider (Alan); 3 Grandchildren, Cameron Michael Bostick, Roland Briggs Robinson and Edward Briggs Robinson. Visitation will be at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home from 2:00 pm until service time at 3:30 in the Chapel. Burial will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

Eubie Watson

Eubie Melvin Watson, a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL, died Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at the age of 64. Melvin retired from Ingall’s Shipbuilding after 39 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eubie Hubert Watson and Ida Mae Griffin Watson. His survivors include his wife of 20 years, Judy Carol Pilgrim Watson; four children, Gabriel Quin Watson, Brandy Marie Watson, Wayne Warren and Matthew (Amy) Warren; four sisters, Jeannie Ann Adcock, Ida Frances (Richard) Myles, Jackie Adcock and Linda Noller; nine grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 4, 2017 at 12:00 Noon from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 10:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

Patricia Kelly

Patricia Ann (Estes) Kelly, a resident of Mobile, AL, passed away Monday, November 27, 2017 in Providence Hospital. She was born December 1, 1944 in Gulfport, MS to Skip and Twyler Rouse Estes.
She was a 1962 graduate of Murphy High School where she was a member of Phi Theta Sorority. Prior to her retirement she was a secretary with International Paper Company in Mobile.
She is preceded in death by her parents, as well as her Grandparents; Mr. and Mrs. Edward Rouse, of Lucedale, MS. 2 brothers; David and William A. Estes
She is survived by 2 sons; John Kelly, Jr. (Ginger Fultz) and Jim and Angelina Kelly. Special friends John and Gloria Spotswood and Jackie Lane Dyess, of Mobile and a host of other friends and relatives.
The family will receive friends on Friday December 1, 2017 at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until service time at 12 Noon in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

John W Hill

John Willis Hill, born in Prichard, AL and longtime resident of Mobile, AL, died Monday, November 27, 2017 at the age of 84. He was a US Air Force veteran and retired from International Paper Company after over 50 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Willis Hill and Leafther Jane Powell Hill. His survivors include his sister, Floy Jane Hill (Tollie) Loper; other relatives and special friends, Jean Platt and Clarence Collum. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 1, 2017 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 12:00 Noon until service time. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

Virginia Wardell Covington 1940-2017 A native of Smith County, MS and resident of Mobile, AL died on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at the age 77. Mrs. Covington loved her family and family gatherings. She is survived by four children, Vicki (Dan) Richardson, Sharon Thomas, Claude (Tracy) Pettis, Jr. and Tracy (Butch) Wheeler, Jr; brother, LaVoy (Mary Ann) Wardell; eight grandchildren, Marcus Thomas, Jr., Jeremy Pettis, Sabrina Pettis, Samuel Pettis, Ryan McKenna, Kalee McKenna, Clint Richardson and Danny Richardson; one great grandchild, Layla. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 12:00 PM from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with visitation from 10:00 AM until service time. James Hathcock

James Lee (Buddy) Hathcock, Jr., born July 30, 1923 in Moss Point, Mississippi, passed away at Forest Manor Nursing Facility, Tuscaloosa, AL, surrounded by family on November 23, 2017. He is remembered as a kind, beloved husband, father, PawPaw, and friend, always quick with a smile and a joke. Buddy was preceded in death by his father James Lee Hathcock, Sr.; his mother Ethel Hathcock; his sister Doris Burns and brother-in-law Oliver Burns; and his step-grandson Zachary Daniel Day. He is survived by his wife Juanice Hathcock; brother Robert Hathcock; son Edwin Glenn Hathcock; daughter Regina Diane O'Dell (David); step-son Charles Day (Nancy Campbell); grandchildren Casey John O'Dell (Katie) and Kelly Chandler; step-grandchildren Ashley Marie Day and Charles Matthew Day (Michelle); great-grandchildren Sydne O'Dell, Addy O'Dell, and Shelby Chandler; step-great grandchildren Emma Day and Jack Day; and numerous other relatives and family friends. An Air Force veteran who served during WWII as an airplane mechanic at a base near then-Calcutta, India, he had a long career in Civil Service, working in mechanics and quality control. He worked longest at Brookley Field, Mobile, AL, and also in Jacksonville, Sarasota, and St. Petersburg, FL. Gifted working with his hands, he was an excellent mechanic, watchmaker, tinkerer, and painter of portraits and landscapes. After retiring from Civil Service, Buddy worked at several different auto, RV, and parts supplier businesses. A longtime resident of Mobile, he was a member over the years of Navaco Baptist Church, Azalea Baptist Church, and Dauphin Way Baptist Church. He sang in the choirs of all these churches. Buddy and Juanice moved to Tuscaloosa in 2009 and lived in the Springhill Lake neighborhood as well as Crimson Village Retirement Center before moving into Forest Manor. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 on Monday, November 27, preceded by a brief visitation 2:30-3:00, at Dignity Memorial's Memory Chapel Funeral Home, 2200 Skyland Blvd. E., Tuscaloosa, followed on Tuesday, November 28 at 1:00 by a short graveside service at Mobile Memorial Gardens, Mobile, AL.

Peggy L Gardner

Mrs. Peggy L. Gardner, age 90. Born in High Point, North Carolina to Charles and Beatrice Long. Mrs. Gardner married her beloved husband, Tommy Gardner on August 31, 1946. Peggy was an honor student in high school which helped her get a secretary position with the city of High Point, where she worked until they moved from North Carolina. Her and Tommy lived in Atlanta, Georgia, New Orleans, Louisiana and then to Mobile, Alabama where she passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2017. She enjoyed, crossword puzzles, shopping, gardening, dancing, playing cards, board games, watching her favorite game shows, soap operas, Atlanta Braves, New Orleans Saints and Alabama football. She mostly loved spending time with her beloved husband, sharing 71 years of love and happiness. She also loved “Reggie” her Chihuahua who went everywhere with them.
She was preceded in death by her husband Tommy “Hun” who passed away on September 4, 2017; her son, Mike Gardner; canine companion, “Reggie” and her parents, Charles & Beatrice Long. She is survived by her son, Tom (Tracy) Gardner; grandchildren, Tommy (Anna) Gardner, Jennifer (Patrick) McGinnis; step grandchildren, Andrew and Meghan Murrill; great grandchild, Lauren Gardner McGinnis; step great grandchildren, Braylen, Bentley and Camden; mother of her grandchildren whom was always thought of as a daughter, Eileen Martin Gardner. The family would like to express a special thank you to Melissa with Southern Care Hospice and her caregivers, Theria, Tina, Sheila, Gloria and Tonya.
The family will receive friends on Friday, November 24, 2017 from 1 to 2 pm at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Graveside services and entombment will follow at 2 pm in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

Laney Lee Hester, age 71, of Mobile, Alabama Passed Away on Sunday November 19, 2017. Laney was born January 27, 1946 in Newberg, Alabama to Mary Pearl Lane Hester and Gilbert Jackson Hester.

Laney is survived by his wife of 48 years, Karen Louise Lane Hester; son, Ryan (Jennifer) Hester; brother, Jackie Wayne Hester; sister, Kay (Paul) Munger; three grandchildren, Justin Hester, Zachary Hester and Riley Grace "Bug" Hester.

Laney was preceded in death by his son, Justin Hester; his parents, Gilbert Jackson Hester and Mary Pearl Lane Hester; sister, Jean Glass; and brother, Clayton Hester.

A visitation for Laney will be held Tuesday, November 28, 2017, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Radney Funeral Home, Mobile. A funeral service will occur Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens.

Annie Lois Pridgeon Cassity, age 91, of Mobile, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2017. Annie was born August 12, 1926, in Mobile, Alabama to Helen Pridgeon and Napoleon Jackson Pridgeon.

Annie is survived by her daughters, Patricia A Cassity and Peggy (Tony) Clarke; two brothers, Murray (Ann) Pridgeon and Angus (Carolyn) Pridgeon; two grandchildren, Russ (Mary Virginia) Clarke and Cassie (Sean) Carmichael; three great-grandchildren, Louise Clarke, Pierce Clarke, and Clarke Carmichael; and a caregiver Burnadette Smith.

Annie was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Cassity; her parents, Helen Pridgeon and Napoleon Jackson Pridgeon; and three sisters, Helen Glover, Levice Whitehead, and Dean Henderson.

A graveside service for Annie will be held Friday, November 24, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at Mobile Memorial Gardens, 5956 Three Notch Rd, Mobile, Alabama 36619, followed by an interment.
