Jesse Ray Gilmore Jr.

A Church service for Jesse Ray Gilmore Jr. will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, 04/03/2018 from Stone Street Baptist Church, followed by a committal service at the grave site.

Jesse Ray Gilmore, Jr. was born in Mobile, AL on February 13, 1970 to Jesse Ray Gilmore, Sr. and Ida Mae (Slaughter) Gilmore. He transitioned March 26, 2018. Jesse graduated from B.C. Rain in 1988. He attended Alabama State University (1988-1990). He joined the U. S. Navy in 1991 and was honorably discharged in 1995 and served in the Naval Reserve until March 14, 1999. Jesse began his career with the U.S. Postal Service March 14, 1998, where he served as supervisor until God called him home. Jesse was a fun-loving and kind hearted soul. His children were his pride and joy. He loved his family dearly and whole-heartedly! Jesse was preceded in death by his mother, Ida Mae Gilmore; grand parents, Roger W. Slaughter, Emmett and Ginger V. Gilmore. He leaves to cherish his precious memory his loving wife, Telisha Nicole Gilmore; three daughters, Ashley Massey, Taylor and Amber Gilmore; one son, Jacob Gilmore; a loving father, Jesse Gilmore, Sr.; step-mother, Hazel Gilmore; one brother, Leonard (Melanie) Gilmore; three sisters, Carla Weaver, Shanel (Lateef) Walker, Jasmine Reed; two stepbrothers, Jarrod (Marleen) Pressley, Juan (Cynthia) Reed; devoted two aunts, Vivian Lyle, Emmie Jean (Jackie) Calhoun, one uncle, George Earl (Maryou) Gilmore; a host of close relative and good friends. His remains will lie in state on Monday, April 2, 2018 from 5-8pm at Small's Mortuary, Mobile, AL. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 from 9am until the11am funeral hour at Stone Street Baptist Church, 311 Tunstall Street, Mobile, AL. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens, Mobile.

Catherine Reese

A Chapel service for Catherine Reese will be held at 12:00pm on Monday, 04/02/2018 from Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, followed by a committal service at the grave site.

Catherine Lear Reese 1948 – 2018 A native and resident of Mobile, AL died on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 at the age of 69. Mrs. Reese was a lifelong member of Alpine Hills Church of Christ where she was very active. She loved fishing and being close to the water. She was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Reese. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Reese; brothers, John Charles “JC” Lear and George Lear, Jr; a granddaughter who was very dear to her and whom she loved very much, Cailyn Anna Reese. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, April 2, 2018 at 12:00 Noon from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

Anna Chancey

A Chapel service for Anna Chancey will be held at 10:00am Monday, 03/02/2018 from Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, followed by a committal service at the grave site.

Anna Pearl Glover Chancey 1929 – 2018, died Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at the age of 88. Mrs. Chancey was born in Leroy, AL to William F. Glover and Pearl Harris Glover on April 28, 1929. Growing up in Leroy, Anna was an active member of Leroy Baptist Church and later in life Moffett Road Baptist Church in Mobile. Anna had an exceptional voice and was active in the church choir. She was always ready to offer support to those in need. She lived in Mobile for many years. She was preceded in death by two children, Marilyn Harden and Gregory Harden; six siblings and three husbands. She is survived by two grandchildren, Courtney Harden and Russell Harden; one brother, James T. Glover; various nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, April 2, 2018 at 10:00 AM from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

Carole Knudsen

A Church service for Carole Knudsen will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, 03/31/2018 from Holy Cross Lutheran Church, followed by a committal service at the grave site.

Carole Claudia Knudsen, a native of Pocahontas, IA, and long-time resident of Mobile, died at home on Saturday March, 24, 2018 at the age of 84. Carole was born on June 7, 1933 to Claude and Minnie Camper. She graduated from Des Moines Township High School in May 1951 where she was captain of the basketball team and student body president. She later attended Tobins Business College in Fort Dodge, IA. On April 3, 1955, she was united in marriage to Paul Knudsen at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Rolfe, IA. They were married 43 years prior to her husband’s death. For several years she was a homemaker and raised four daughters. After her daughters were in school she returned to work, working in the retail industry where she received many professional awards and recognition. Carole loved to travel, having traveled to 49 of the 50 states and many other countries. Her other interests included reading, sewing and watching and attending basketball and baseball games. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church for many years and later attended Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Carole is preceded in death by her husband, parents and sister. She is survived by her daughters Linda (Wayne) Johnson of Fairhope, AL, Christine (Randy) Raper of Mobile, AL, Paula (Rex) Chastain of Pass Christian, MS, and Sandra (Peter) Teel of Saraland, AL; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens following the service.

Walter Richardson

Walter Eugene Richardson, age 83, a native of Coden and resident of Irvington, Al, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 25, 2018 to be with the Lord. He was born on May 4, 1934 as the oldest of nine children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene S. and Martha M. Hebert Richardson, his loving and devoted wife Janet Gray Richardson, sisters Mable Joullian, and Linda Darden, and brother-in-law George Gazzier, Jr. Mr. Richardson attended St. Margaret School, Bayou La Batre, and Little Flower School, Mobile. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. He was employed by Ingall's Shipyard for many years as Ship's Foreman and retired. He was a devoted and loving husband and father who placed his family at the center of his free time. His love for the sea, the enjoyment of harvesting seafood and preparing it for family gatherings were his passions. Mr. Richardson is survived by daughter Cynthia Raley of Irvington, AL, grandson Jesse Raley III (Anna), great-grandsons Harmon Walter Raley and Charles Allen Raley, brothers Francis P. Richardson (Mary), Slidell, LA, Glenn J. Richardson (Judy), Breaux Bridge, LA, Bruce W. Richardson, DeRidder, LA, sisters, Irene Gazzier, Bayou La Batre, AL, Wilhelmina Todd (Paul), Fairhope, AL, Mary Stickney, Summerville, SC, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. Dorothy Risher

A graveside service for Dorothy Risher will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, 03/30/2018.

Dorothy Laree Durham Risher, first child of Terry Olcott Durham and Lenora Lee West Durham, was a true coal miner's daughter. She was born in Moffat, Alabama, Bibb County. The family moved all around Birmingham and Central Alabama, following the coal industry and active mining camps. Later, the family moved to Mobile (Alabama Village) where she met her future husband, Joseph Allen Risher. Dorothy and Joe lived in the Chickasaw community of Mobile and had two daughters, Nora and Nita. In 1957, they moved to Camden, AR where Joe worked for Woodlands Division of International Paper Company. Dorothy and Joe became very involved in the community in Camden. Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, homemaker and consummate seamstress. She was also a talented artist and contributed her talent to creating backdrops for First Baptist Church of Camden and Camden Community Theater (under the direction of Susie Watts). After both daughters were grown and married, Dorothy and Joe took the IPCO "tour" back to Mobile, a return to Camden, Georgetown, S.C. and then retired in Mobile, where they enjoyed attendance and fellowship at Springhill Baptist Church. Dot, as many called her, and Joe were avid Crimson Tide fans, even while living deep in Arkansas Razorback territory. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Joseph Allen Risher, and daughter, Lenora Ann Risher Jordan, three brothers Terry Austin Durham, Franklin Delano Durham, and Donald Durham. She leaves behind a daughter, Nita Risher McGlawn (Blane), three grandchildren, Ken Jordan (Magnolia, AR), Joseph McGlawn and husband, Renzo (Atlanta, GA), Nicholas McGlawn and wife, Hilary (Alabaster, AL) and son-in-law, Floyd Jordan, Jr., Magnolia, AR. Special thanks to the staffs at The Cottages in Hoover, AL, Kindred Hospice, and New Beacon/SouthernCare Hospice for the attentive care given. A graveside service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, March 30, 2018. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens, Mobile, AL. beside her beloved Joe Allen. Randolph M Williams Jr.

A graveside service for Randolph Williams Jr. will be held at 2:.00pm on Tuesday,  03/27/2018.

Randolph M. Williams Jr. “Buddy” passed away peacefully at his home in Theodore, AL on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at the age of 84. A United States Army Veteran who served in the Korean War. He was a member of Abba Shrine, 7701 Hitt Rd. Mobile, AL 36695. Randolph Jr. was also a member of the Masonic Pentalpha Lodge 804, of Saraland, for the past 58 years where he reached the level of Master Mason. Randolph Jr. is predeceased by his parents, Randolph and Mamie Williams.
Survived by his loving wife Betty Williams of 56 years. They were married on May 20, 1961.
Randolph Jr. is lovingly remembered by his wife Betty of Theodore; son Randy Williams (Misty) of Mobile, Al; Grandchildren, Courtney Williams; Grace Williams; Henry Groh and Hunter Groh of Mobile, AL; and Loving & Faithful Caregiver, Alisha Rogers. Randolph Jr. was born in Prichard, Alabama in 1933. He graduated from Murphy High School in 1951. He worked as a electrician for I.B.E.W. Local 505 in Mobile, AL. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 2PM. Visitation will be held on Tuesday 12 noon until service time. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
