Lillian M. Ardis, 90, a longtime resident of Spanish Fort, Alabama, passed from this life Saturday evening April 28, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband William B. Ardis, her sister Francis Lowe, and her brother Daniel E. Davis Jr. She is survived by her brothers Bob Davis (Ginger) and Frank Davis, children Dwight Ardis (Mary), Donna Clanton, Sandra Tomlin, grandchildren Ben Ardis (Nadia), Reggie Ardis (Lauren), Jamie Shobe (Mark), Hunter Clanton (Robyn), great grandchildren Kimberly Presson, Phoenix Ardis, Devon Ardis, Emerson Shobe, Kadynce Clanton, Aubrey Clanton, Vivienne Shobe and her newest great grandchild Theodore Clanton. Lillian was affectionately called Gran by all her family. In her younger years her friends gave her the nickname Tige, short for Tiger. Gran dearly loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They had a special place in her heart and knew she would always have candy to share. She was an avid Alabama Football fan, country music fan and late in life she loved an occasional trip to the casino. She was an awesome cook and made some of the best homemade fried chicken, coconut crème pies and her children looked forward to their homemade tiered birthday cakes. She taught her family how to make homemade fudge and a fruitcake that everyone loved. Gran had many pets in her life and loved them all. Gran will be laid to rest Wednesday May 2, 2018 at 10:00 AM in Mobile Memorial Gardens in a graveside service. Pallbearers will be Emerson Shobe, Devon Ardis, Mark Shobe, Larry Vandergrift, Reggie Ardis and Dwight Ardis. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Gran’s favorite charity.

Mary Martin Todd Faulkner

A Chapel service for Mary Martin Todd Faulkner will be held at 12:00pm on Thursday, 05/03/2018 from Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, followed by a committal service at the grave site.

Mary Martin Todd Faulkner was born on May 24, 1920 in Scobey, Mississippi to parents George and Lulu Martin. She died on Sunday April 29, 2018 as a resident of Ashland Place Nursing Home in Mobile, AL. She was married to Harry Lee Todd from 1936 until his death in December of 1971. In January of 1990, she married Henry E. Faulkner and was married until his death in 1999. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, JoAnn Todd. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Tillman's Corner and a member of the fraternal Order of the Eastern Star and Amaranths of Hollinger’s Island, Alabama. She worked for many years at Bellingrath Gardens in Theodore as a transportation driver and a host in the gift shop. She is survived by daughters Irma Jean Strickland of Pace, FL and Dorothy Lee Mitchem of Fort Walton Beach, FL and son David Martin Todd Sr. of Theodore, AL. Grand children include Karen Strickland Cichocki, Susan Todd Tillman, Alicia Todd Smyly, Hope Strickland, Candace Todd Morgan, David Martin Todd Jr., Joel Strickland, Christopher Mitchem and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family request that you make donations in her memory to the First Baptist Church Tillman's Corner Building Fund.
Funeral services will be Thursday, May 3, 2018 at 12:00 Noon at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Griffin officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

Dorothy Simmons Parrott, age 88, of Mobile passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Springhill Medical Center. She was a lifelong resident of Mobile and was an avid University of Alabama fan. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Aubry and Daisy Simmons and her brother, Buddy Simmons. Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Mathhues; sons, Richard Parrott (Diana) and Donald Parrott (Tracey); 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; sister, Melba Buchanan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Mobile Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Tuesday from 1:30-2:00 p.m.

Hazel Jean Fleming

Hazel Jean Fleming 1925-2018

A native of Louisville, MS and resident of Heweytown, AL died on Thursday, April 26, 2018 at the age of 93. Mrs. Fleming received her BS degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and her Master’s in Education from the University of South Alabama. She was a career educator in the Mobile County Public School system as a Teacher, Resource Teacher and Principal. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gama educator’s society and a longtime member of Zion Baptist Church. After her retirement she was active in the Red Hat Society and loved going fishing, camping and traveling with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Guy F. Fleming and a son, Jack V. Fleming. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Fleming (David) Whatley; sisters, Margaret Young and Mary Lynn (Bud) Richardson; three grandchildren, Jack Edward Fleming, Christopher Lyn (Carla) Fleming and William Jason (Jennifer) Whatley; three great grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, May 4, 2018 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 12:30 PM. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

Born July 22, 1930, Joe died peacefully on the morning of April 28, 2018, after fighting debilitating health issues. He was preceded by his father, Joseph Valnon Duralde and his mother, Ethel Lawrence Duralde. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mildred I.Duralde; his son, Joseph M. (Stephanie) Duralde, Jr.; step-son, Roy Don (Diane) Kennedy; grandchildren; Andrew Don (Marie) Kennedy, Jonathan M. (Brittany) Duralde and Jennifer Duralde Aycock; three great-grandchildren, Caleb Andrew Kennedy Abigail Olivia Kennedy and Brooklyn Marie Aycock and other relatives and friends. Joe retired after a lengthy career with the GM&O Railroad. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and retired as Lt. Col. From the Alabama Army National Guard. In his retirement he was a dedicated volunteer at Providence Hospital for 14 years. Joe was a committed Christian and served the Lord at Cottage Hill Baptist Church for 48 years and was a member of Dauphin Way Baptist Church for 12 years at the time of his death. Our husband, father, and great-grandfather will be greatly missed by his loved ones and friends. The family would like to thank the angels of mercy who ministered to Joe during his illness until his death. Thank you Stella Kennedy, Tia Kennedy and Christy Buford for your love and care to our family. Visitation will be at 10:00am at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home followed by a Celebration of Life service at 12 Noon, Wednesday, May 2, 2018 and conclude with military honors at the graveside. Hunter Bowman

It is with a heavy heart our family shares the news that Hunter James Bowman, 24, passed away on Wednesday. Our beloved, Hunter, will be missed dearly. Hunter was born on March 8th 1994 in Newnan, Ga. He is the son of Mike Bowman and Gina Bowman. Hunter graduated from Faith Academy High School in 2012. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Sylvia Bowman, and his maternal grandfather, Gerald Bohannon. Hunter is survived by his parents Mike Bowman and Gina Bowman, and his siblings Michael, Victoria, Chance and sister in law Brooke Bowman. He is also survived by his paternal grandfather, Charles Bowman, and his maternal grandmother, Lillian Bohannan. Hunter also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The services will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 6040 Three-Notch Road in Mobile, Al. on Tuesday May 1, 2018 at 12 noon Visitation, 9:30 am for immediate family 10am-12pm for family and friends. Interment to follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

Hall, Jr., Veronica Hewlett and Shirley Hall; two sisters, Mary Wamsley and Wilma Dixon; 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
