Ethel Marie Nolan Rouillier, a native of Tocopola, MS and current resident of Theodore, AL, passed away at home Tuesday, November 27, 2018 after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her first husband, M. H. Hollis; her second husband, Robert L. Rouillier, Sr., and her daughter, Merry Ann Shelton. Her survivors include her daughters, Marilyn Hollis and Marsha Hollis; grandchildren, Misty Presnall (Jason), Chris Shelton and Melissa Weaver; great-grandchildren, Mikayla McDonald, Tanner Presnall (Amy) and Trace Presnall; great-great-grandchild, Jaxon Presnall; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. She will be greatly and sadly missed by her many friends and family members. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 12:00 Noon until service time. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to all of Marie’s caregivers throughout the years, especially Ann Crawford, Cheressa Mauldin and Mary from A Touch of Love. Chanh Minh “KC” Tu, age 31, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 15, 2018.

Clint Hudson

A graveside service for Clint Hudson will be held at 12:00pm on Friday, 11/30/2018.

Clint Hudson, age 42, of Mobile, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at Providence Hospital.
Clint graduated from Mobile Christian School then when directly to work for Clutch and Powertrain where he worked for 23 years. He loved sports and deer hunting with his dad. He also loved playing disc golf with his friend Jeff Keevan. He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Leslie and Ester Hudson and maternal grandfather, Marlin Rogers. Survivors include his parents, Fred and Sheila Hudson; brother, Chad Hudson; maternal grandmother, Patsy Rogers; aunt, Susan (Terry) Hearndon; and numerous cousins and other family members. Graveside services will be held Friday, November 30, 2018, at 12:00 p.m. at Mobile Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. -12:00 p.m. prior to the graveside service at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.

Mary Ernestine Rudd

A chapel service for Mary Ernestine Rudd will be held at 10:00am on Friday, 11/30/2018 from Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, followed by a committal service at the grave site.

Mary Ernestine Rudd died peacefully in her home in Mobile, Alabama on November 27, 2018 at the age of 81.
Ernestine is survived by her husband of 63 years, Robert (Bob) Rudd Jr., daughter, Teresa (Ronnie) Vance, son, Mark (Alison) Rudd, grandchildren Larissa (Rob) Byrd, Aaron (Vanessa) Hoyt, Joshua Vance, Jill (Rick) Andrews, Allison Vance (Frankie Capps), Katie-Ruth Rudd, Renee Rudd, and Saundra Rudd. She is preceded in death by her father, Hubert Ernest Nation, mother, Viola Spain Nation, and sisters Louise and Francis. Ernestine was born February 10, 1937 in Rome, Georgia to loving parents. She was a proud “preacher’s kid,” as her father was a vocational minister in the Assembly of God church. She and her parents later moved to Quincy, FL and she graduated from Quincy High School in 1955. The same year, she married her high school sweetheart, Bob. After moving to Mobile in 1971, Ernestine began working for Commercial Guarantee Bank as assistant to the Vice President, and eventually became branch manager. She loved her role as manager and built lifelong friendships with co-workers and customers alike. Ernestine was an active member of Cottage Hill Baptist Church, where she taught 3rd grade Sunday School for many years. A funeral is scheduled for 10:00am on Friday, November 30, 2018 at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Rev. Ronnie McCarson will officiate the ceremony. Interment will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Ernestine Rudd’s name to the Assemblies of God general fund at www.giving.ag.org

Bernie Nelson

A chapel service for Bernie Nelson will be held at 10:00am on Wednesday, 11/28/2018 from Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, followed by a committal service at the grave site.

Bernie Alton Nelson passed away at home on November 25, 2018, on his 66th birthday after a courageous battle with cancer. Bernie was a lifelong resident of the Mobile and Theodore area. He had a long career in construction and later work in catastrophe insurance adjusting. Bernie was an avid outdoorsman. His hobbies included golfing, fishing, and hunting of all kinds. He is preceded in death by his parents, William L. Nelson and Violet E. Nelson. Bernie is survived by one daughter, Madison Linda Nelson. He is also survived by four siblings, Gerald L. Nelson, Darleen Jones, LaNell Cole (Randy), and Michael Nelson (Tonya). Bernie was dearly loved by a host of friends and relatives. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at 12:00 p.m. from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends for an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Marion Cooper

Marion Rigney Tew Cooper
1928-2018
Marion was born January 16, 1928 to Charlie and Daisy Kennedy Rigney in Buchatunna, Mississippi. Marion went to be with her loving Savior on November 25, 2018. She was 90 years old. Marion moved to Mobile around the age of 20 where she lived the rest of her life. She worked at the Alabama State Unemployment Office and retired from Alabama Dry dock and shipbuilding. Her nickname was “Tiger Tew”. She was proceeded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Joseph H Tew Jr., and her second husband, Boyd Clyde Cooper. She is survived by her children, Martha Tew Ethridge, Charles “Bubba” (Toni Tetley) Tew, Jennifer Cooper Johnson, and Ronnie Cooper. Six grandchildren, Erin (Jody) Clements, Marci (Mike) Freeman, Monica (Brent) Williams, Scott Johnson, Regina Johnson (Terry) Lapeyrouse, Holly Lewis (Christopher) Collins. 11 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. One sister, Mildred (Wiley) Falks of Pascagoula, MS. Two brothers, Charles (Maggie) Rigney, and Thomas (Duple) Rigney, both of Waynesboro, MS. And a great host of nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Alabama Hospice for the excellent care given to their mother, and a special thank you to Karen, Dani, and Dee. Also they would love to send a special thank you to the wonderful sitters Tricia, Jerry, Melissa, and Myrtle for all their loving care of “granny” over the last three years. Marion had a strong love of our Lord and was always there to help any way she could. She loved her family with unconditional love and was a wonderful mother and loving grandmother. She will be missed by many people. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 12:00 Noon. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family asks for contributions to be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or a favorite charity in Marion’s name.

Janet Orso

Janet Olga Horne Orso, a native of Mobile, AL and current resident of Eight Mile, AL, died Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the age of 82. Janet was a member of Creola Baptist Church; loved to read; was a caregiver for many family members and babysitter for her grandchildren who were the light of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert William Horne and Julia Ruth Elizabeth Pryor Horne; her husband and love of her life, Clyce Lamarteen Orso, Jr.; her daughter, Jenine Byrd; her sister, Peggy Burt; and two grandchildren, Jarret Dunnam and Damarc Taylor.
Her survivors include her children, Carol (Steve) Horelick, Patricia (Danny) Overstreet, Elizabeth (Manuel) Martinez, John (Debbie) Wilson, Marian (Jerry Baker) Lider, Darryl (Callie) Orso, James Wilson, Cyndy (Cedric) McIntosh, Sherry (Thomas) Dunnam and Clyce L. (Sylvia) Orso, III; her son-in-law, Donald Byrd; one sister, Trish (Tommy) Roser; two brothers, Wilmer (Alicia) Clarke and Joe (Aileen) Clarke; 23 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Funeral services, officiated by Pastor John Blackwell, will be held Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 10:00 AM from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Margie Arceneaux

Margie Louise Arceneaux, 91 born February 5, 1927 in Quentin, Mississippi., passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2018 in Mobile, AL. Mrs. Arceneaux was a long time resident of Somerby and a member of Kingswood United Methodist Church, Mobile, AL. In Lieu of Flowers, Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Inner City Mission or to the McKinney Place. Mrs. Arceneaux was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Dean Arceneaux and her parents, Loston and Mary L. Vaughan Smith. Surviving are her loving and devoted children, Cherie (Harold) Arceneaux-Meyer and Robert L. (Paula) Arceneaux; grandchildren, Destin (Dawn) Meyer, Jennifer (Chris) Neydon and Anna (Dennis) Mitchel; great grandchildren, Ava Emily Meyer, Cannon Arceneaux Meyer and Timothy Neydon. John Taylor Sr.

John Howard Taylor, Sr., born March 11, 1930, passed away on November 21, 2018. A native of Anniston, Alabama, he was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel L. and Maggie (McKleroy) Taylor and his sisters Alma (Roy) Pitts, Flora Ann (Eunice ) Ford and Frances (Raymond) Waits. John leaves behind his beloved wife of 70 years, Virginia Corinne Taylor. He is also succeeded by his son John Howard Taylor, Jr. and granddaughter, Christy Taylor. Also, his daughter, Valerie Taylor(Austin) Parrish and grandchildren Meridith (Josh) South and their daughter Taylor; Stacy (James) Lewis and their daughter Breanne; Andrew Parrish; Mark (Morgan) Parrish; and Michael Parrish. Also, his son Mark (Sabra) Taylor and their children Deliana, Sangia and Brock. John also leaves a brother, Aaron (Ann) Taylor of Anniston, Alabama and a sister, Leanne (Dearl) Landers of Alexandria, Alabama, as well as several nieces and nephews. John was a longtime, faithful member of the University Church of Christ at Alpine Hills. He enjoyed gardening, being of service to others, and spending time with his family. He was the best husband, father and grandfather anyone could ask for. He will be missed so much. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 12:00 Noon from the University Church of Christ with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
