With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Betty Jean Cumbie, who entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on July 14, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on March 15, 1934, in Attala County, Mississippi, Betty lived a life marked by kindness, grace, and an unwavering love for her family. Her gentle spirit and warm smile touched everyone who knew her. For nearly 60 years, Betty faithfully worked at Treadwell Ford, later AutoNation Ford, where she was known for her dedication, warm smile, and the many friendships she built over the years. She found joy in life's simplest pleasures. She loved Elvis Presley, country music, traveling, getting her nails done, enjoying a sweet treat, going to the catfish house, solving word searches, watching her favorite television shows, and spending countless hours spoiling her grand-puppy, Rafi. Whether you knew her as Betty, Mom, Nanny, or BooBoo, you knew a woman whose kindness, warmth, and beautiful smile made everyone feel welcome. She will be remembered for the love she gave so freely and the lasting impact she had on all who knew her. Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we find comfort in knowing that, through her faith in Jesus Christ, she is now at peace in the presence of the Lord she faithfully loved and served. With her homegoing, she has been joyfully reunited with the many loved ones who went before her. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the Mulherin Custodial Home in Betty's honor.
