Carolyn Graydon Empfield, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at a local hospital. She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Donald I. Empfield, Sr., parents, James Mercer and Lillie Mae Mullins Graydon , infant son, James Doyle Empfield and brother, Charles Ronald Graydon.
Carolyn was a longtime member of Chickasaw First Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, camping and traveling in their motorhome over the years. She enjoyed game days with her family and playing Wii bowling at her senior residence home. She loved her shopping days with her daughter and was lovingly nicknamed “Miss Hollywood” by her friends at the residence. She was always happy to let others know that her job over the years was “working for lawyers”. She was a proud legal secretary for many years. Mrs. Empfield is survived by her children; Carol Barlow (Hugh), David Lee Empfield and Donald Irwin Empfield, Jr. (Rhonda). She is also survived by her brother, James Alvin Graydon (Julie), seven grandchildren; Nicole, David, Jr., Natalie, Daniel, Kristen, Nick, Caroline; four great-grandchildren; Hannah, Christian, Nathan and Liam.
Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home-Saraland on Saturday, January 11, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

A chapel service will be held at 11am on Saturday, 01/11/2020 from Radney's Funeral Home in Saraland, followed by a committal service at the grave site.
