Gail Shirley is a woman to remember and forever will be a legacy in Alabama. She was born and raised in Gordo, Alabama, along with six siblings. Growing up in a small town, she learned the value of security, faith, and family. She applied this wisdom when she married the love of her life, Joe Shirley. She created her family of 4 that grew within time. Gail was the shiny example to show how to stand by your man, especially to her Joe. Her daughter and her son learned by example how to be a good person, and so on to her grandchildren. Gail Shirly was a God-fearing woman, teacher, mother, grandmother, aunt, and great-grandmother. Gail Shirley became the woman a community could go to for advice, wisdom, and nurture. She devoted her lifetime giving to community through a prayer, fostering children, fostering animals, teaching, and love. She simply loved everyone around her as much as she could. Gail would teach that happiness came within and is a choice you must make every day. Kindness came easy for her. Although she may have been kind, when she needed to protect her family, she did fiercely and passionately. Gail Shirley-a woman whose heart and dedication touched so many lives; whose legacy will continue to inspire generations, not just through her family but through the community she nurtured. Her strength, kindness, and wisdom made her a beacon of love and guidance to everyone around her. She lived a life filled with faith, generosity, and deep devotion to those she loved. From fostering children and animals to being a source of wisdom and protection, she carried the spirit of giving in everything she did. Stories like hers remind us how powerful one person's impact can be. She is survived by her children, Wanda Elliott, Joseph Shirley, her grandchildren: Danielle Elliott Bull, and Richard Elliott (Hope Elliott), and her great children; Parker Bull and Eliana Grace Elliott.

Mrs Shirley was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother but I know her as a friend. It was such a joy to visit with her and hear her stories about her life and her concern for her children. Wanda and Joe you know you are still her babies. She leaves a legacy of love of God and family.
Mrs Shirley was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother, and loved sharing her faith with others. It was joy to sit and talk with her and listening to her fill me in on her love and concern for her family. Wanda and Joe you will always be her babies! She leaves a legacy of a Proverbs 31 woman!
