Jacqueline Emma Bates Hoffman, entered eternal life with her Lord on February 11, 2019. She was born in Mobile, AL on April 24, 1938 to Henry and Marguerite Bates. She graduated from Murphy High School and married her high school sweetheart on December 21, 1956. Together with her husband, she raised three children and was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church where she was confirmed as a child. Jackie enjoyed much time with family and friends through her 80 years of life. She graduated from nursing school as a registered nurse and worked a number of years at then, Doctor’s Hospital. Later she worked with her husband in their business, Hoffman’s Air Conditioning, Inc. until they both retired in 1998. They spent many years at Dauphin Island enjoying beach activities with children, grandchildren and friends, and they continued to travel together until the end stages of Parkinson’s. Her husband tirelessly cared for her at their home. Jackie is survived by her husband, David; their three children, Pam (Jimmy) Rodriguez, David Hoffman, Jr. and Brad (Donna) Hoffman. She was blessed with 5 grandchildren, Allison (John) Snyder, Adam (Kyla) Rodriguez, Andrew Rodriguez, Nathan Hoffman and Caroline Hoffman and 4 great grandchildren, Riley Emma Snyder, Carson Rodriguez, Madison Rodriguez and Nolan Snyder. She is also survived by her sister Jeannie (Kenny) Godbold and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. A visitation will be held Wednesday, February 13, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 1356 Government St, Mobile, AL 36604. A celebration of life will occur Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens, 5956 Three Notch Rd, Mobile, Alabama 36619. Rev. Wayne Miller will officiate. In lieu of flowers, consider donations to The Grace Lutheran Church Building Fund.


1938-2019
A church service will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, 02/13/2019 from Grace Lutheran Church, followed by a committal service at the grave site.
