James Edward Greene, Sr.

August 17, 1950 - August 12, 2026
James Edward Greene, Sr., born to the late Sarah and John H. Greene, Jr, was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away on August 12th, just days before his 76th birthday. Ed was a graduate of Vigor High School and the University of South Alabama. He also attended Auburn University. Throughout his life he was a devoted Auburn fan, always cheering for the Tigers. Fishing was a lifelong love of Ed’s. He always knew where the fish were biting. Whether he was spending time on the water, watching Auburn sports or surrounded by his family, Ed appreciated the things in life that brought him happiness with the people he loved. Above all else, Ed loved the Lord and his family. He devoted much of his time and energy to his church, Chickasaw Methodist. His greatest joy came from the time he spent with his family. He will be remembered for his devotion to his faith, his love for his family and the memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him. Ed was preceded in death by his son James Edward Greene, Jr. He is survived by his wife Sherri, of 52 years of marriage, and his sons McKeene B. Greene (Erin) and their children Mac and Van; and William T. Greene (Jackie) and their son Finn. Ed is also survived by three brothers, John (Darla), Bill (Barbara), and Frank (Toni); and many nieces and nephews. His legacy will live on through his sons and grandchildren through the values, stories and traditions he passed down to them.   War Eagle Dad! You will be deeply loved, greatly missed and forever remembered.
