Jamie Sullivan

December 31, 1943 - June 28, 2026

Jamie Marie (Rodgers) Sullivan, age 82, a longtime resident of Spanish Fort, Alabama, passed away on June 28, 2026, at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, Alabama. She was surrounded by the love of her family and many dear friends.

Jamie was born on December 31, 1943, in Whistler, Alabama, to James “J.W.” and Vivian Rodgers. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She had a remarkable gift for making everyone she met feel welcome, valued, and loved. Her gentle spirit, generosity, and constant smile—even on her darkest days—brought light and comfort to those around her. She faced life’s challenges, especially during the last several years, with quiet strength and grace, always putting others first and offering kindness without expecting anything in return.

Jamie found great joy in spending time with family and friends, reading, and watching television, but nothing brought her more happiness than her five grandchildren, whom she adored. She was a longtime member of Faith Family Fellowship Baptist Church in Spanish Fort and never missed an opportunity to share her love for her church and, most importantly, her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was also known for her wonderful sense of humor. She was quick to laugh if you happened to injure yourself, but just as quick to help patch you up once she regained her composure. Despite the many health challenges she faced in recent years, she never lost her sharp wit or infectious humor, carrying both with her until the very end. She was preceded in death by her parents, James “J.W.” and Vivian Rodgers; her sister, Elizabeth Hemmingway; and her brother, James “Jimmy” Rodgers. Jamie shared 25 wonderful years of marriage with the love of her life, and together they raised three children. She is survived by her children, Robin Overstreet of Spanish Fort, Alabama, Tara (Matt) Wargo of Bay Minette, Alabama, and Randy Sullivan of Daphne, Alabama. She also leaves behind her five cherished grandchildren, Blake Overstreet, Ashton Sullivan, Bailey Sullivan, Macy Wargo, and Sadie Wargo. She is also survived by her sister, Linda (Ronald) Townsend of Semmes, Alabama; her sister-in-law, Haley Rodgers of Saraland, Alabama; and her sister-in-law and lifelong best friend, Elaine Beesley of Satsuma, Alabama. The family extends a very special thank you to her niece, Tori Beesley, for the countless hours she spent visiting her “Auntie” and taking her to numerous doctor’s appointments. Your love, devotion, and selfless care meant more than words can express. Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Sullivan, Kenneth Sullivan, Brad Rodgers, Jake Townsend, Brent Townsend and Lynn Mosley. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronald “Ronnie” Townsend, Breck Messer and Jeffrey “Jeff” Beesley. Though our hearts are broken by her absence, we rejoice in knowing that Jamie is healed, free from pain, and rejoicing in the presence of her Savior. While we will miss her deeply every day, we take comfort in the promise that, because of her faith in Christ, this is not goodbye, but simply, “until we meet again.”
