Joan Powell Matthews
1930-2019
A native of Birmingham, AL and resident of Mobile, AL died on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at the age of 88. Mrs. Matthews was active in her church and liked to read and work in her yard. She loved her grandchildren and spending time with her great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Matthews and a grandson, Eric Harris. She is survived by three children, Pamela (Michael) Harris, Steven L. Matthews and Glen Matthews; siblings, Pat Van Riper and Ronald Powell; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, March 29, 2019 at 12:00 Noon from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

A chapel service will be held at 12pm on Friday, 03/29/2019 from Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, followed by a committal service at the grave site.
