Frances Marguerite Furlow Holder Yow, went to be with her Lord on December 21, 2018 after a brief battle with liver cancer. Marguerite was born February 22, 1930 in Canyon, Texas. She moved to Mobile, Alabama as a bride and resided there for 46 years. West Texas called her back and she returned to Amarillo in 2000 where she remained a loyal Texan the rest of her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Shelton and Effie Croft Furlow, her siblings, Verline Bewley Redman, Lecy Mae Whitchurch, Shelton Estill Furlow and John El Furlow, as well as her husbands, Aubie O’Neal Holder and Willie W. Yow, Jr. She is survived by her sweetheart of the past 20 years, George Warren (Buddy) Orr and his precious family, her daughter, Angela Holder McClammy (Mark), grandson, Austin O’Neal Holder (Brennan), granddaughter, Jessica Lynn McClammy, as well as her much loved stepchildren Debbie Yow Baxter, William Allen Yow (Stacy) and their sweet families. She is also survived by many loved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Marguerite led a full and happy life never turning down a chance to dance or sing. She enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing, camping and most importantly her family and making gumbo on Christmas Eve. She was affectionately called the “Queen Bee” by her relatives because she was the star at every family gathering. She was a Christian, Past Queen of both the Daughters of the Nile Naiad Temple #109 in Mobile, Alabama and Avihk Temple #70 in Amarillo, Texas, where she was Chaplain for the last few years. She was an active member of the Red Hat Society, volunteered at USA Medical Center for many years after her retirement from the U.S. Marshal’s Office with 34 years of service with the Federal Government. Services will be at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, December 27, 2018 with visitation from 12-2PM and services at 2PM


1930-2018
A chapel service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, 12/27/2018 from Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, followed by a committal service at the grave site.
