Marlene Ogden - Mobile Memorial Gardens

Marlene Whittington Ogden, a native of Liberty, MS, and longtime resident of Mobile, AL, departed this life on February 6, 2019 at the age of 84. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Robert J. “RJ” Ogden and grandson, Paul-Michael Ogden. Marlene was the daughter of the late Sam E. Whittington and Lula Minerva Freeman Whittington of Amite County, MS. Marlene retired from the Mobile County Public School System in 1988 after serving 25 years as the secretary and clerk at Indian Springs Elementary School. Marlene was a member of Snow Road First Baptist Church where she enjoyed worshipping and her “group of ladies”. She is survived by her son, Carroll James Ogden (Cindy Ehman Ogden) of Mobile, AL; daughter, Sherry Ogden Jones (Randall Keith Jones) of Brandon, MS; cherished and beloved grandsons, Christopher Ogden, Phillip Ogden and Kyle Jones; her sister, Clarice Allred (Larry Allred) of Auburn, MS and a host of nieces and nephews and her closest friends, Jakie Harbin of Saraland, AL and Patricia Harper of Mobile, AL. Visitation will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Saturday, February 9, 2019, beginning at 1:00 PM. Reverend Paul Montalvo will officiate a graveside service at 2:00 PM. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
