Phyllis "Charlie" Marchand Barrett, age 87, resident of Mobile, Alabama, passed on August 15th, 2026, in Mobile, Alabama. She was born on December 22nd, 1938, in Mobile, Alabama. Charlie was a student of St. Catherines elementary and Bishop Toolen high school. She enjoyed coaching boys and girls basketball at Little Flower Catholic School. She also enjoyed offshore fishing, ceramics, and painting which was taught by her mom. Most of all she enjoyed eating boiled crabs! Charlie was a longtime member of Mobile Mystic organization Order of Polka Dots. She spent many years building successful real estate holdings in Mobile and Tillman's Corner. She was a member and Eucharistic minister of Holy Family Catholic Church. She cherished her family most of all and loved being nicknamed Sweetie Pie by her great-grandson's. She is preceded in death by; her father, Felix Marchand; and her mother, Eloise Dickens Marchand. Charlie is survived by; her loving husband of 59 years, Ronnie J. Barrett; her sons, Bobby Strong, Terry (Priscilla) Strong, and Guy Strong; her stepdaughter, Rhonda (Mark) Smits; her sister, Luana McEvoy; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.   Pallbearers: Bobby Strong, Terry Strong, Guy Strong, Daniel Strong, David Best, and Mark Smits.

Charlie's funeral service will be held at 2 P.M. on Thursday, August 20th, 2026, at Holy Family Catholic Church with Father Mark Neske pastor of Holy Family officiating. Burial will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M. on Thursday, August 20th, 2026, at Holy Family Catholic Church.
