Roberta Miller - Mobile Memorial Gardens

Roberta Miller

February 15, 2019

Roberta was born in Eiler, AL on February 7, 1932 and spent her childhood there. She graduated from Silas High School. After moving to Mobile, AL in 1957 she worked for Rotary Rehabilitation and later Goodwill Easter Seals as a Vocational Evaluator. She retired in 1997. She was a member of St. Johns United Methodist Church.

Her memory is cherished by her daughter Becky Welch, Son-in-law Bart Welch, granddaughter Jessica Welch, grandson Sam Welch and other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Vivian Miller.

Roberta loved people and enjoyed all forms of company. She loved her family and friends, and was particularly taken with her two grandchildren, Jessica and Sam. Discovering Facebook was wonderful for her. She loved meeting friends to have lunch or play cards and enjoyed going to church at St Johns United Methodist. She loved spending time at the Providence Senior Center, having lunch, playing bingo, and visiting. In her better days she loved to help out there and would serve members that needed help. Even when Roberta was not feeling well, she would push past it to get out and be with people. She drove and went about town up until her final illness. Through her illness we learned how many friends she made all over town. She had wonderful neighbors that watched out for her and took care of her and became close family friends. She will be greatly missed by both her family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Visitation will start at 1:00 PM Tuesday. Burial will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family has designated Save a Stray for memorial contributions.
