Samuel R. Hosey of the Seven Hills Community, passed away peaceful on Jan. 7, 2020. He was born Dec. 15, 1931 in Laurel, Ms. to Richmond C. and Selma Hosey. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, and his loving wife, Willie Mae of 58 years. He was a United States Air Force veteran that served with the Occupation Forces in Germany during the Korean War era. He was a founding member and volunteer fire fighter of the Seven Hills Vol. Fire Dept. and retired at the age of 79. He was instrumental in designing and building the Vol Fire Dept. and the Community Center of the Seven Hills community and Nov. 11, 2003 it was dedicated in honor of his outstanding service. In his time with the dept he served as fire fighter, Officer, Fire Chief, Board Trustee and Board Chairman. He loved working in his yard and was a avid wood worker and carpenter and in his 88 years, he built the 2 homes which he raised his family and retired. His survivors include his children, Ginger (Stephen) Werneth, Ricky Hosey, Robert Hosey, and Rhonda (Brad) Miller, 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Monday, January 13, 2020 from 5-7 PM. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at 10:00 AM from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

A chapel service will be held at 10am on Monday, 01/13/2020 from Funeral Home, followed by a committal service at the grave site.
