Sandra Leigh Moore

Jun 4, 1965 — Sep 8, 2026
Sandra L. "Sandy" Moore, age 61, of Mobile, Alabama, passed away suddenly on September 8, 2026. Sandy was born on June 4, 1965, to Doug and Donna Robbins and was a lifelong resident of Mobile. She was the second of six children and grew up surrounded by the family that would remain at the very center of her life. Sandy shared 37 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, Tony Moore. Their story began when Sandy met Tony at the grocery store where he worked, and from those early days they built a life together filled with love, family, laughter, and countless memories. They often remembered their first year of marriage, when life was simple and meals frequently consisted of macaroni and cheese, green beans, and Hamburger Helper. What began with those humble early years grew into 37 years of a beautiful life together. Tony loved Sandy deeply and completely, with a strong and devoted love that was evident to everyone who knew them. Their love for one another was one of the constants of Sandy's life and a beautiful example to their family. She is survived by her husband, Tony Moore; her daughter, Ashlyn; her son, Dylan and his wife, Kaylin; and her beloved grandson, Lane, who held an especially precious place in her heart. Sandy treasured being a grandmother, and some of her greatest joy came simply from being with Lane and spending time together. Lane and Tony also knew exactly how to get a reaction out of her-they loved playing jokes on Sandy by hiding fake bugs for her to find, knowing full well how much she hated bugs. Those moments of laughter, teasing, and family fun are memories they will always treasure. She is also survived by her parents, Doug and Donna Robbins; her siblings, Karen and her husband, Jeff; Brian and his wife, Linda; Michal and his husband, Dennis; Hope and her husband, Shawn; and Leslie and her husband, Scott. Sandy was also blessed with a large extended family, including many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews whom she loved dearly. For more than 30 years, Sandy worked for The Orthopedic Group in Mobile as an insurance CPT medical coder. She was a dedicated employee and was deeply loved by her coworkers, many of whom became an important part of her life. To know Sandy was to know someone who was bubbly, happy, headstrong, determined, devoted, nurturing, supportive, and full of personality. She had a beautiful smile, an unforgettable laugh, and a wonderful Southern voice that those who loved her will always be able to hear in their memories. She was someone people knew they could count on. Even when she was busy, Sandy was always willing to stop what she was doing to help someone else. Sandy enjoyed the simple things that made life fun. She loved spending time in her swimming pool, shopping, tackling DIY projects, visiting farmers markets, going to festivals with her family, spending time at the beach, and loving on her dogs, Pepper and Daisy. As a lifelong Mobilian, she also loved Mardi Gras-and especially collecting the cups! Anyone who knew Sandy also knew she loved finding a bargain. She could appreciate a good clearance section and loved the thrill of finding a great deal. And then there was Sandy's love of all things that sparkled. She may have said her favorite color was yellow, but her family knew the truth-her favorite color was sparkly. It was a perfect reflection of Sandy herself: bright, happy, full of personality, and impossible not to notice. But more than anything else, Sandy loved her family. They were the center of her world. She was happiest when she was surrounded by the people she loved, and she poured herself into caring for, supporting, and being there for them. As a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, Sandy was someone you knew you could depend on. Her steadfast love and devotion to those around her will be among the greatest parts of her legacy. Sandy leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a family and circle of friends who will miss her more than words can express. Her beautiful smile, contagious laughter, unmistakable Southern voice, generous heart, joyful spirit, and just the right amount of sparkle will never be forgotten. Pallbearers will be Dylan Moore, Lane Bosarge, Chandler Tolbert, Nevan Tolbert, Noah Robbins, Jordan Blount, and Ryder Diebold.
