Sandra Lynn McElroy Smith entered God’s rest on April 29, 2020. She was born in Carrollton, Georgia, on December 6, 1955. She was raised in Moss Point, MS, graduated from Moss Point High School in 1973, and attended University of Southern Mississippi. Professionally she worked in banking and in financial aid for The University of Mobile and for Spring Hill College. Most recently she worked for the Alabama Judicial System as a Court Specialist. Lynn was a long-time member of The Order of Polka Dots, a Mardi Gras organization, and an ardent Alabama Crimson Tide football fan. As a Presbyterian, she had a deep love of God and Church music. She enjoyed all things Christmas, especially music and movies. Lynn loved spending time with family and friends. Her ability to make people laugh endeared her to all who knew and loved her. Lynn was preceded in death by her father, James Boyce McElroy and her husband, William (Bill) Cecil Smith, Jr. She is survived by her mother, Ernestine Trammell McElroy of Mobile, AL, her sister, Karen McElroy Evans (Paul) of Gainesville, GA, and her brother, John Scott McElroy of Pascagoula, MS. Interment will be at Mobile Memorial Gardens, with a graveside service pending, with the Rev. Dr. Buz Wilcoxon officiating with the Rev. Paul Evans assisting.
