Born on February 9,1934 in Coffeeville, Alabama; passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2019 in Huntsville, Alabama. She was previously a resident of Mobile, Alabama. Vernette was a 1951 graduate of Murphy High School. She was a dedicated school teacher within the Mobile school system. She also worked together with her husband, Bob McLendon, in their State Farm Insurance agency. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Tony) Henson; granddaughter, Brittany (Steven) Trotter; grandson, Brandon Fairris; great-granddaughter, Amelia Trotter; great-grandson, Lincoln Trotter; great-granddaughter Evelyn Trotter; sisters, Valerie Johnson, and Marie (James) King.
Graveside services and interment will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at 9:00 am in Mobile Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 8:30 am until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christ United Methodist Church in Mobile, Alabama.
