Willodene Armistead McWhirter, a native of Nanafalia, AL and longtime resident of Satsuma, AL, died Friday, February 22, 2019 at the age of 81. She was a member of Saraland Baptist Church and retired from Warrior and Gulf Navigation after many years of service. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Curtis Armistead and Gladys Mae Luker Lee; her husband, Russell R. McWhirter and her son, Mark R. McWhirter. Her survivors include her son, Russell F. (Vickie) McWhirter; her brother, James “Jim” (Ann) Armistead; her sister, Lula Jean Armistead Hepstall; two grandchildren Kippen McWhirter and Kullan McWhirter; her daughter-in-law, August Taylor McWhirter; other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, February 28, 2019 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon. Graveside services and interment will follow at 12:00 Noon in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
