Robert Andrew Toifel, a lifelong resident of Mobile, AL, was born October 29, 1931 and died in his home August 7, 2019 at the age of 87. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc and St. Mary’s Catholic Church parishes; was a 1949 graduate of McGill Institute where he played football, basketball, and tennis; was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was retired from G.M.A.C. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leopold Francis Toifel and Thelma Teresa Eckert Toifel, and his brothers, “Poochie” and “Big Ronnie”. Bobby had boundless generosity, and always full of humor. He was a true handyman and could fix anything, including broken hearts. He brought so much joy to his family who loved to gather around him. He loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a man of integrity and honor. His survivors include his wife, Omeika, who was his childhood sweetheart whom he loved, honored and cherished for 65 years; their children, Tierney (David) Vial, Cheryl (Grandon) Baker, Robin (Joe) Costa, and Brick (Natalie) Toifel; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; his youngest brother, David (Rynn) Toifel; numerous nieces and nephews; extended family and friends. He was beloved “Daddy”, “Pop” and “King Papa”. He was a godly man who was a selfless servant to Christ. He was bigger than life to all who knew and loved him. Bobby will be remembered on Saturday, August 10, 2019. The rosary will be recited at 9:30 AM at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Brett Vial, Kelsey Baker, Clay Baker, Trey Toifel, Bryce Toifel and Kyle Toifel, with Michael Francis serving as an honorary pallbearer. In lieu of flowers memorials in Bobby’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place #260, Memphis, TN 38105.

A chapel service will be held at 10am on DAY, 08/10/2019 from St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, followed by a committal service at the grave site.
