Joella Nichols, age 83, of Mobile, passed away Friday, August 9, 2019 at Springhill Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Harley Nichols; parents, Anthony Kirk Hildreth and Ella Nathalie Hildreth; sister, Shirley Lisenby; and brothers, Kirk Hildreth and Austin Hildreth.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Avery; brother, Gray Hildreth (Joanne); grandson, David Avery (Lindsay); granddaughter, Michelle Canterbury (Randall); great-grandchildren, Chrissy Landers (Kieran), Tyler Smith, Johnathan Canterbury, Ally Canterbury, Krista Canterbury, James Avery, and Alexandra Avery; and great-great-grandchildren, Adelynn Landers and Wayne Landers.
Joella was a longtime and active member of St. Mark United Methodist Church where she expressed her love for children by serving in the nursery for many years. She loved her home and enjoyed working in her yard and tending to her flowers. She also enjoyed cooking for family, friends and neighbors. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be missed dearly by those who knew her.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 14, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

A chapel service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, 08/14/2019 from Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, followed by a committal service at the grave site.
