Allen McDade Burkett, 93, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2019 in Mobile, AL. He was born on May 22, 1926 in Georgiana, AL. Allen married Jean Harbin on August 21, 1949. He was a graduate of Murphy High School, and also served in the U.S. Navy for two years. He was a faithful member of Regency Church of Christ. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, William Burt Burkett and Eleanor McDade Burkett, and his brother, Simon Gray Burkett. He is survived by his loving wife of almost 70 years, Jean Harbin Burkett; his children, Allen McDade Burkett, Jr. (fiancée Donna Welch) and Marcia (David) Jordan; his three grandchildren, Joel Jordan, Allison (Sean) Murphree and Daniel (Kaley) Jordan; his great-grandson, Cullen Murphree; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at the Regency Church of Christ at 10 a.m., with funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

A church service will be held at pm on Saturday, 08/17/2019 from Regency Church of Christ Funeral Home, followed by a committal service at the grave site.

My prayers and thoughts are with you as you gather together in support and love to remember your beloved. I’ll always remember how Mr. Burkett made me feel welcomed in your home. I remember all the Sundays I rode to church with your family as Mr. Burkett drove us. At those times, I felt like I was part of your family. He was a big part of my younger years. I wish I could be with you at this time. As you grieve, I grieve. I love you all!
