1937-2020
Max Ray Ward, 83, was born April 17, 1937 in Robertsdale, Alabama and passed away on October 1, 2020. He is survived by Judy Howell Ward, his wife of 56 years, his son Michael Heath (Julie) and his daughter Leeanne Ward Lanham; four grandchildren, Heather, Amber, Olivia and Alexis, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Simeon (Sim) Ward and Annie Mae Brantley Ward and his sisters Ruby Ward Ratcliff Brewer and Ruth Alyce Ward Wimberly. Max retired from the U.S. Postal Service in 1992 after 30+ years of service. He served four years in the Marine Corps. He had numerous hobbies that brought him great joy. He loved being a jokester. He could make anyone laugh at him and at themselves. He also loved to go bream fishing with his buddy Ralph Evans, Sr. He was an avid car lover. He built some amazing cars and loved all of them, from Corvettes to Cobras. But his greatest love was his family. Pall bearers will be Heath Ward, James Earl Ratcliff, Randy Ratcliff, Charles (Chuck) Wimberly II, Ralph Porter and Alvin Porter. Visitation will be held at Radney Funeral Home-Saraland on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will be in the funeral home chapel beginning at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens.

A chapel service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, 10/06/2020 from Funeral Home, followed by a committal service at the grave site.
