Wallace Erwin Jones (Wally) was born on July 4, 1952 and died December 31, 2020. He was the beloved son of Eileen Wallace Jones and Leo Cullen Jones Jr.. Wally had two sisters, Vicki Jones Dawkins (Brad) and Britt Jones Lersch. He was an Uncle to William Bradford Dawkins Jr., Christy Dawkins Kelly, Elizabeth Eileen Lersch and Cullen Joseph Lersch. In his younger days he owned and operated a Surf Shop on Holcomb Avenue in Mobile. Later, he worked alongside his father in the family business Consolidated Air until he retired to Wilmer Alabama, where he resided until his death. Wally was an avid outdoorsman. He loved surfing, hunting and had a passion for fishing. He also had a love for animals including his dogs Priss, Rocky, Tommie, Katie and his cat Rambo. He will be missed immensely by his family and friends. There will be a graveside service at Mobile Memorial Gardens on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, his family asks that you donate to Mobile Baykeeper in his honor. Meet at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home at 11:55 am Wednesday to fall in procession.
