Raquel Sifuentes Celis, de 83 años, falleció en su casa el jueves 28 de enero de 2021. Nació el 4 de febrero de 1937 en El Resbalón, un pequeño pueblo rural ubicado en Durango, México.
Pasó gran parte de su tiempo en el campo con su familia, ocupándose de su ganado y cultivos. Esto, junto con cocinar y escuchar novelas en la radio, eran sus pasatiempos favoritos. Se mudó a la ciudad de Torreón, Coahuila, y cambió sus programas de radio por programas de televisión a color. Llegó a los Estados Unidos en 2004 y finalmente llegó a Mobile para estar con sus hijas.
Ahora se reencuentra con sus padres: Porfirio Sifuentes y Elvira Celis; sus hermanas: la bebé Lupita, Chepa, Otilia y Evangelina; su hermano, Aureliano Sifuentes. Le sobreviven su hermano: Manuel Sifuentes; sus hijas: Bertha (Ruben) Gimenez, Dalila (Jorge) Chavez y Adriana (Osvaldo) Sifuentes; sus nietos: Miguel, Carlos, Karla, Benjamin, Andrea, David e Isaac; su bisnieto: Ruben; su bisnieta que pronto nacerá: Eva. Se llevará a cabo un servicio conmemorativo en la funeraria Memorial Gardens en su cumpleaños número 84, el jueves 4 de febrero de 2021. El velorio será a las 10:00 am, seguido de un servicio conmemorativo al mediodía. El sepelio será en Mobile Memorial Gardens.
Raquel Sifuentes Celis, age 83, passed away at home on Thursday, January 28, 2021. She was born on Feburary 4, 1937 in El Resbalon, a small, rural town located in Durango, Mexico.
She spent much of her time in the field with her family, tending to their livestock and crops. This, along with cooking and listening to soap operas on the radio, were her favorite pastimes. She moved to the city of Torreon, Coahuila, and traded in her radio programs for color TV programs. She came to the United States in 2004, eventually coming to Mobile to be with her daughters.
She is now reunited with her parents: Porfirio Sifuentes and Elvira Celis; her sisters: baby Lupita, Chepa, Otilia, and Evangelina; her brother, Aureliano Sifuentes. She is survived by her brother: Manuel Sifuentes; her daughters: Bertha (Ruben) Gimenez, Dalila (Jorge) Chavez, and Adriana (Osvaldo) Sifuentes; her grandchildren: Miguel, Carlos, Karla, Benjamin, Andrea, David, and Isaac; her great-grandson: Ruben; her soon-to-be born great-granddaughter: Eva.
A memorial service will be held at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on her 84th birthday, Thursday, February 4, 2021. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM, followed by a Memorial Service at noon. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
