Mr. Elton Keating, 86, longtime resident of Silverhill, AL, passed away on Monday, March 29, 2021. He was born in Pickens County, Alabama on February 11, 1935.
He was a member of Silverhill First Baptist Church. He and his wife owned and operated Keating Service Center for many years and he later became employed with James Brothers Excavating until he retired. He was a good man who worked very hard at everything he did. He loved his family very much. Known to them as “Pop” and PopPop”, he loved spending time with his beloved grandchildren, enjoying great conversation and hearing about what was going on in their lives. They were truly his heart and he was theirs, too! He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Jewel Keating whom he was married to for fifty-eight years and his son, Elton Wade Keating. Surviving is his son, Tony (Linda) Keating of Daphne, AL and his daughter, Annette (Bruce) Henderson of Richmond, VA; his six grandchildren, Terry (Reid) Ronalds, Kelsey H. McCourt, Rebecca N. Keating, Lewis Henderson, Garrett (Chloe) Keating and Hannah K. Keating; his five great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Friday April 2, 2021 at Silverhill First Baptist Church, 15898 Silverhill Avenue, Silverhill, AL, 36576. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00am. Officiating will be Rev. Jason Rothe. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church Silverhill, P.O.
