Jan Tyson, age 69, passed away on Wednesday, May 12, 2021. Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.Jan was born in Birmingham but spent most of her childhood in Mobile, graduating from Davidson High School before returning to Birmingham where she married and raised her son, Jimmy. She was very proud of her work in banking as a loan officer and as a legal secretary in a law office. In later years she enjoyed volunteer work at Providence Hospital. She was very interested in the genealogy of her family and produced family trees for each of her siblings.She was preceded in death by parents, Harry Hugh Tyson and Carrie Ezekiel Tyson and her older brother, James David Tyson.Survivors include her son, James Bertram Saeger; sisters, Carol (Vincent) Guarino, Nancy (Wayne) Self, and Fran Darcy; brother, Danny (Machelle) Tyson; sister-in-law, Maxine Tyson; as well as several cousins, nieces, and nephews.Jan suffered with illness many, many years but never gave up hope for a future. She was blessed with a peaceful and gentle passing with family at her side.Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 18, 2021, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
