On Tuesday, June 15, 2021, Jane Harrison Turner, mother of two, left this earth at the age of 77. Jane was born in Farmville, Virginia on August 16, 1943 to Velma Wilson and James Bigger. She made her home in Mobile, AL for 53 years and was happily married for 23 years to Almon Carey Turner.
Jane was a dedicated employee and was known to work two jobs when her children were growing up. She meticulously cared for her family and wanted them to know their God-given worth. She was wonderful at keeping in touch with family and friends and would often commemorate birthdays and holidays with special cards and phone messages. She enjoyed celebrating others and went out of her way to help people feel cared for and valued.
Jane is preceded in death by her husband, Carey and grandson, Adam. She is survived by her two loving children, Donna Copeland and Christopher (Cile) Byrd. She is also survived by one sister, Mary Van Owen, of Clarksville, Virginia. Jane is remembered with great affection by her five grandchildren, Kevin, Lyndsey, Emma Kate, Ella Grace and Martin.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, June 21, 2021 at 12:00 PM at the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
