William "Oakley" Cobb, Jr. was a loving husband, father, son, pawpaw and friend. Oakley left this world on Wednesday, July 7,2021 at the age of 85, surrounded by his loving family at home. He was born to William O Cobb, SR (deceased) and Grace B Cobb (deceased), on March 18,1936 in Mobile, Al with a sister Dudley G Cobb (deceased) born 1939. Oakley graduated from Murphy High School, after leaving high school Oakley joined the Navy Reserves and began a lifelong career at Alcoa Aluminum Company, which he retired from after 30 years. Oakley's high school sweetheart, Addies L Cobb became his wife of 58 years until her passing in 2013. They had three children Tonya C Merchant spouse Rodney, Pamela C Parker and William O Cobb III of Mobile, AL. Three grand children Rodney Merchant, Jr spouse Czarina of Virginia Beach, VA, Jake Parker spouse Sheree of Big Point, MS and Jared O Merchant spouse Michelle of Mobile, AL. Seven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Oakley was a member and deacon of Woodridge Baptist Church for 36 years. Oakley loved his family, fishing, church and doting on his high school sweetheart. Funeral services will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 with visitation beginning at 12:30 PM. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
