We are saddened to announce the death of Patricia Sanders Russell (Mom, Sweetie and Tia) of Mobile, Alabama on July 25, 2021. She died peacefully at home of natural causes, surrounded by her family. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She was born on October 30, 1937 in Plateau, Alabama to Leon Clifford Sanders and Lena Mae Sanders. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Eulalene Butler. She is survived by her sister Mary Sue Watson, her husband James Alfred Russell, her son Clifford Russell (Deborah), her daughters Terri Willis (David) and Nancy Coleman (Barry), five grandchildren, Brooke Martin (Ryan), Scott Russell, Alison Russell, Jacob Coleman (Rae), Max Coleman (Victoria) and 2 great granddaughters, Tenley Martin and Elizabeth Coleman.
Patricia's first love was her piano. She accepted Jesus at an early age. As a child, she enjoyed preaching to her chickens. She played the snare drums in the Vigor High School Marching Band where she graduated in 1956. She was married to James on July 7, 1956 in Plateau, Alabama. After marriage she was employed by Southern Bell until she had her first child and became a fulltime homemaker. She loved to travel and collect novelties. She was a fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Atlanta Braves. She was a strong supporter of her church, and the Humane Society of the United States. A very special thank you to Angel Tunstall and Chelsea Beckham for their loving care of our wife and mother.Visitation will be held on Friday, July 30, 2021, from 9-10 am at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 10 am in the chapel. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
