Mary "Liz" Pownall
Mary "Liz" Pownall passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, July 28, 2021 after a 6 year Battle with metastatic cancer. A lifelong resident of Mobile, AL Liz found many passions, some of which were traveling, reading, the arts, and the relationships she had with family and friends. Her kind, loving personality made her impossible not to love. Liz was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Liz was preceded in death by her parents, George and Mary Ann Herring. She is survived by by her husband of 44 years, Gary Pownall; daughter, Jill (Chris) Johnson; son, Alan Pownall (Ariel Irving); 4 granddaughters, Megan, Taylor, Sophia and Mila; 2 great grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at 10:00 AM from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
