Obituary
Ms Evelyn Marie Grubbs Law, 86, was born on November 17, 1934 in Winter Haven, FL and lived in Mobile, AL. Just as she wished, Evelyn was at her home surrounded by her family and close friends when she peacefully entered into eternity with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 31, 2021.
Evelyn is one of two children and the daughter of William & Elsie Grubbs of Winter Haven, Florida. She graduated from Murphy High School in 1952 and worked as a bookkeeper most of her life. She married in 1954 and had 4 children; Bill, Len, Eleanor, & Jimmy. She has 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Known as a devoted and caring mother to her own children and family, she also gained the title "Mother to Many" with her extremely loving and compassionate demeanor. Those who knew her use words such as vivacious, witty, faithful and sharp minded to describe her. Her family often takes her advice that "If you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all." Evelyn would often remind those around her to have "PMA:" a positive mental attitude.
It was this positive outlook on life, along with her Christian faith, that led Evelyn to live a full life. She loved water sports, gardening, fishing, traveling and family gatherings. Although a resident of Mobile and Baldwin county most of her life, she also enjoyed her time running the Elberta social club, Hide-a-way Fishcamp in Ebro, Florida and long visits to family in South Florida. Even with decreased mobility in her recent years, Evelyn was always in good spirits, with her hair and nails done, and "ready to go" to the next adventure. Her zest for life leaves a smile on the faces of all who knew her.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents William & Elsie Grubbs, her son, Leonard (Len) Lee Law, Jr, her cousin, Earlene (Punkin)Ford, & Henry (Terry) Jonathan Kittrell, III. She is survived by her only brother William (Billy Jur) (Francis) Grubbs, her children Bill (Janis) Law, Eleanor Law, and Jimmy (Angela) Law, cousin and close friend Bobby Jean Hubbard Malone, 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren children, 2 nieces, 1 nephew, and many other relatives and friends.
The family wants to send a special thank you to her caregiver and family friend, Jill McCombs Roberts, her favorite doctor, George Eyrich, and the ICU staff at Mobile Infirmary hospital.
