Sandra Irene Glazner

July 18, 1941 - August 13, 2021 (age 80)
Sandra Irene Stromei Glazner, of Fairhope, AL, passed away August 13, 2021. Sandra was born in Mobile, AL, on July 18, 1941, to Frank and Vera Stromei. She was the eldest of three daughters and was born on her mother's birthday. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Victor; and sister Brenda Stromei Self. She is survived by her daughter, Nikki Glazner Morgan (Kevin) and grandson Andrew, of Spanish Fort, AL; son, Brad Glazner (Melissa) and granddaughter Addison, of Lilburn, GA; sister Fran Stromei Steele (Lauren) of Charlotte, NC; brother-in-law Don Self of Jacksonville, FL; brother-in-law Mark Glazner (Ann) of Kenner, LA; sister-in-law Terry Arrington (Jim) of Mobile, AL and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Sandra attended Little Flower Elementary School and graduated from Bishop Toolen High School and Spring Hill College, where she majored in Spanish. While in college, she also attended the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City, Mexico, through Loyola University. After graduation she worked in the Mobile office of the FBI, and then went on to teach Spanish in the Mobile Public Schools, and sixth grade at St. Pius X. In 1967 she married the love of her life, Victor, at St. Pius. They had known each other since grade school. Together they built a family and a successful architecture firm where Sandra ran marketing and sales. As small business owners, they worked a lot, but enjoyed sailing on their sailboat in their free time and loved being out on the water with their children. The happiest days of their lives were when their children where born, both gifts from God. Sandra loved Mobile and its traditions, especially Mardi Gras, where she was a member of Harlequins mystic society. She was a member of various civic organizations, including the Art Patrons League. She loved gardening and was a talented seamstress like her mother. Sandra was a fiercely independent and confident person, and in a lot of ways ahead of her time. Never one to mince words, she was a life-long conservative Republican and followed politics and current events closely. Life in the Glazner house was never boring or quiet. She was the eldest of the three of the most stubborn sisters on the planet and also the best cook, two traits that can be attributed to both her Italian and Deep South roots. She was a long-time parishioner of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Mobile, before moving across the bay where she joined St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Sandra loved everything about Fairhope and was proud to have been a life long resident of the Mobile Bay Area. She will be very missed by those who loved her. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at SAAD Hospice for their loving care.
