Dorothy Rea Halbert (formerly Dot Giles), a longtime resident of Mobile, Al, passed away on August 17, 2021, in Valdosta, Ga. She was born on June 26, 1930, in Silas, Al. She is survived by her daughter, Ada Steele (Mark); her brother, Eddie Giles (Bea); her grandchildren, Zachary Steele, Ian Steele, Joshua Steele, and Aubrea Callanta; her great-granddaughter Lennon Riddle; and her nephews Tim Giles and Clay Giles (Angela).
She is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil B. Halbert and her parents, Clayton and Dovie Giles. Dorothy was a longtime member of Springhill Baptist Church and Springhill Avenue Baptist Church, both in Mobile, and taught Sunday School at both churches for many years.
In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org).
