Stevie Louise Pomorski Eudy, of Mobile, AL, went to be with the Lord Sunday, September 12, surrounded by her loving family. Stevie was born December 27, 1931 to Felix and Stevie Pomorski in Hammond, LA. The new family eventually settled in Houston, TX, with Stevie as the oldest of three daughters. She graduated from Reagan High School in the Heights area of Houston, where she was a member of the Redcoats, a widely known marching drum corp. Stevie attended Mississippi College near Jackson, MS, where she met Charles Eudy, her future husband. Charles was the first person she met when he appeared at the trunk of her father's car offering to carry her luggage into the dorm. Both would later agree it was love at first sight. They were happily married for 56 years until Charles' death in 2008. Stevie's family, friends, and faith in Jesus were her greatest loves. She was a faithful member of Springhill Baptist Church for 61 years. She was a devoted wife, mother to four children, grandmother to nine, and great grandmother to eleven. She loved beauty and created a lovely, welcoming home. Her engaging sense of humor and infectious laughter blessed all who knew her. Hospitality was a natural talent for Stevie, as she loved to host friends and family for fellowship and wonderful meals (her Shrimp gumbo remains legendary-sadly, the recipe was never documented). Her talent translated into cooking and delivering countless meals to her church family whenever there was a need, and any day could become a celebration with her special touch. She was generous with her time and truly took greater pleasure in giving than receiving. She is lovingly remembered by her sister Vicki Watts (Larry) of Missouri City, TX, her four children; Kathi McCane (George) Dallas, TX, Chuck Eudy (Cheryl), Marietta, GA, Joe Eudy (Betsy) Arlington, TX and Lauri Lambert (Kenny) Mobile, AL. She was also cherished by nine grandchildren: Adam McCane (Jess), Hanna Ratliff (Ben), Lauren Litton (Steven), Robyn Field (Michael), Jackson Eudy, Caroline Butts (Aaron), Ann Taylor Eudy, Julianna Steadman (Patrick) and Lydia Lambert. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Light of the Village ministry (Prichard, AL) or to the Spring Hill Baptist Church Foundation.
