Melvin H. Anderson, age 80, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on November 16, 2021. Melvin was born on August 12, 1941 in Mobile, AL to Alvin and Hester Anderson. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. Melvin was a devoted husband of 56 years to the love of his life, Melba. His interests included gardening, fishing and spending time with family. He was also a skilled craftsman and builder. He enjoyed making special gifts for his family and friends. Melvin was a lifetime Alabama football fan, “Roll Tide”. He will be remembered for his kindness, integrity, humbleness and sweet spirit.
Melvin, aka Pop, is preceded in death by wife, Melba Anderson, son, Hugh Anderson, and granddaughter, Jenny Ard. He is survived by brother, JL Anderson and sister, Iris Kelley, son, Terry Anderson (Cathy), daughters Laurie Funderburk (Rick), and Kimberly Flynn (Russell) and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and special long time friends, Gary and Melanie Turner.
Dad will forever be in our hearts and always our HERO.

Visitation will be Friday, November 19, 2021, from 3:00 to 4:00 PM, at Faith Chapel Funeral Home South. Funeral Service will follow 4:00 PM. Reverend Drayton Smith will be officiating. Interment will be at Mobile Memorial Gardens at 2:00 PM, on November 22, 2021.
