Jean Moring Stephens walked into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, February 6, 2022. She was 82 years old.
Born in Atmore, AL on November 3, 1939, Jean was the daughter of the late Ethel Jane and John Clayton Moring, Sr. She retired from Civil Service at Robins Air Force Base and was a longtime, faithful member of Shirley Hills Baptist Church. Jean was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years, James Thomas Stephens.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her loving children, James B. Stephens (Eva) of North Augusta, SC and Cheryl S. Jones (Chandler) of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Paul B. Elliott, Brittany A. Mosley, Andrew B. Kota, John-Wesley Kennedy, Devin E. Kota, and Seth Z. Clark; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Jean’s family will receive friends at McCullough Funeral Home on Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 3:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. A funeral service will immediately follow at 4:30 p.m. in the chapel of McCullough Funeral Home with Reverend Joe D. Haselden and Reverend Glenn Armstrong officiating. Jean will be laid to rest next to James in Mobile Memorial Gardens in Mobile, AL at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2022.
