Alta Mae Dean Brantley - Mobile Memorial Gardens

Alta Mae Dean Brantley

October 6, 1937 – February 7, 2022
Alta Mae Dean Brantley passed away peacefully at home on February 7th, 2022, surrounded by her “precious” family (Mae always referred to her daughter, granddaughter, grandson, great-grandson, and great-granddaughter as precious). She was a giver, always putting the needs of others before her own. She had a love for reading, and she was known for her cooking and made it her priority to make everyone’s favorite dish. She especially enjoyed sitting on the deck at the beach house watching the sunset and gazing at the stars. She was very devoted to her faith. She raised her daughter in Chickasaw, Alabama, while also working at Erling Riis Research, International Paper Company where she retired after 42 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Land “Buddy” Brantley, Jr., and Chester Land “Little Buddy” Brantley, III. She is survived by her daughter, Teri Brantley Blow (Greg), grandson, Brantley Blow (Macey), granddaughter, Chelan Blow Catrett (Chris), precious great-grandson, Christopher Catrett II, great-granddaughter, Callie Catrett, and her four-legged, fluffy companion, Gabby, who never left her side. She leaves behind a sister, Patricia Scarbrough, and a brother, Don Dean (Barbara). Mae also touched countless other lives who affectionately referred to her as their Mamama.
